Every hot tub is different, but there are a few simple tricks that you can do to heat up your spa quickly and more efficiently check it out. First, what affects how fast your hot tub will heat up on average, it can take four to eight hours to heat up a typical hot tub, but it might heat up more or less quickly, depending on a number of factors like your hot tubs cover and insulation. Your hot tubs hardware, like your heater and your jets, the ambient temperature aka the temperature around your hot tub and your hot tubs water chemistry. So, first, let's talk about one of the most effective tricks, adding a cover.

The easiest way to speed up your hot tub heating is to leave the hot tub cover on. While you wait, most of the heat loss from your hot tub disappears into the air so leaving the cover on in place traps heat and helps warm things up more quickly. An old damage cover can reduce your heating efficiency, so consider replacing it if it's old and worn out, you may also want to add a floating spa cover, in addition to your main hot tub cover. This blanket cover can boost your spa's insulation efficiency rating, and that means even less heat loss and faster heating.

You'll also want to check out your hot tubs insulation. Most newer hot tubs are well insulated, but adding more insulation to your hot tub cabinet, or even underneath your hot tub can help speed up the heating process. The other thing that will heat your hot tub up fast turning on your jets is an easy way to help circulate the water and move around the heat more evenly. Just wait until your hot tub is full and all of your jets are submerged before you turn them on.

You may also want to consider upgrading your hot tub heater while all spas come with a heater installed, it's kind of like a stock stereo that comes with a new car. It works okay, but it can definitely be replaced with something more powerful. Upgrading your hot tub. Heater will help the water heat up more quickly, which means the heater itself works more efficiently.

That means you'll use less energy and spend less money in the long run. Even a smaller spa, with a higher capacity heater can cut down on your heating time by an hour or more. The next thing that matters is ambient temperature, the warmer the surrounding air, the less time your hot tub will need to heat up if it's 76 degrees, fahrenheit or 24 degrees celsius outside and your water is at the same. Temperature it'll take four to eight hours to heat up to 100 degrees, fahrenheit or 38 degrees celsius, so waiting until the hottest part of the day may help speed up the process.

But if you live in a colder climate and you use your hot tub a few times a week, you'll actually save time and money. If you leave your hot tub running and keep the heater on plus, if you have freezing winters and your hot tub is outside you'll, definitely need to keep your hot tub running, so it won't turn into a giant ice cube. Finally, the last thing that will help you heat up your hot tub. Water fast, is good water, chemistry, regular hot tub, maintenance and balanced hot tub.
Water are important to helping your hot tub heat up fast. Things like high alkalinity can cause scale build up which can make your hot tub work twice as hard to heat up by the way we do not recommend filling up your hot tub with extra hot or boiling water. It can melt plastic parts or vinyl liners damage. The pipes or even crack your hot tub shell, so you might as well kick back and wait for things to heat up the natural way.

So that's it remember to insulate your hot tub with a good cover, run your jets when the water is full, upgrade your heater keep your hot tub running if it's cold outside and as always, stick to a regular hot tub maintenance schedule.
