Hey guys on this episode, we're talking about three ways to heat your pool to make the season last just a little bit longer. I got an email from gene who asked what's a good cheap way to make your pool last just a little bit longer. So thank you for your question. Gene and there's actually a few different options for heating, your pool, including buying a gas heater using a heat pump and a solar heater.
But if you want something good and cheap, there are three ways to heat: your pool using the power of the sun number one, the cheapest and most effective way to heat your pool and to keep it warm, is to use a solar cover. These are those bubble wrap, like plastic covers that lay on top bubble side down on your pool water, and it stops the water from evaporating, and it also attracts some heat to your pool. But if you have a really really big pool, you may want to invest in a solar cover, reel uh or just cut the cover in pieces that way they're more manageable number. Two, you can use liquid solar covers uh, which last about a month and they're these little uh.
They can come in fish or like these little balls and what happens is they're. They uh they last a month and a little bit of liquid, just kind of pours out all month, long and kind of floats to the top and creates this molecule thin layer of non-toxic liquid. On top of the cover that keeps the water from evaporating. And i get asked this question a lot and, yes, it is totally safe to use and finally, you can use solar rings, which are these like round floating rings that are look like little mini solar covers and they float on top of your water and they connect With magnets - and they actually can provide up to 21 000 btus of heat per day, pretty cool, so those are the three cheap ways to heat your pool, but if you already have a pool heater and you want to save some extra money - well, that's why we Have a bonus tip today's bonus tip is brought to you by the art of pool care, which is a downloadable illustrated guide that i created to help cover everything you need to know about, pool care to buy it just go to swimuniversity.com art enter the promo code.
Video and you'll get five bucks off all these good and cheap heating methods can actually save you money. If you have an expensive heating system like a gas or an electric heater, you can heat up your pool to the desired temperature you want and then you can either use a solar cover or solar rings or or the liquid solar cover to keep the heat. In your pool, it's kind of like it's kind of like heating up your coffee and putting a lid on it, so it stays warm. I really want coffee now, oh yeah, oh that's the stuff and for more information.
Of course you can go to swimuniversity.com. That's it guys thanks again and happy swimming you.
Heaters pull most current during the heating up phase of the pool water, once the pool is heated to the desired temperature then it uses very little current to maintain.
How bout black garbage bags laying on the water
What a great guy
What about using water from your water heater??? Gas is cheap…
You are so dumb
You are
Just found you randomly, and wanted to say you have the PERFECT YouTube voice 😉
Can you leave the Pool cover in the Pool while the gas heater is on and warming up?
Who else watching this in October lmao
definitely need coffee now.. ty
I bought that solar blanket. It creates alge quick . It heat very little. Almost a water because of time $ spent to return water balance
We have our rain barrel near our pool it gets a lot of sun.
We fill it with pool water in the morning and then return the water to the pool at the end of the day.
We do this at the start of the season a couple of times. And use a solar cover.
Also use a black hose solar heater. Look on y tube for suggestions but we just lay it on our concrete
Had the pool up to 86 in July.
And I live 20 miles south of Canadian border.
Am using my electric heater now. Pool it 80-82. Nights have been in the 50's
I’ve heard black plastic trash bags will warm up the pool. Never tried it though Are you in Barrhaven ?
anyone try the solar magnet discs?
Is the 2nd option safe for kids. My son is disable and he drinks water alot. We only have 7x4x2 size
we live in an area that gets snow and want an inexpensive way to put a dome over out pool and keep it heated in the winter, any thoughts would be appreciated.
I've been successful keeping the heat in my pool by covering it at night, but when I shock my pool, this is where I end up losing heat. It can take me a day or two to get my chlorine levels back down, and at night, I lose a lot of heat. I had my pool up to 88 a few days ago, and it's now down to 77 after only a couple of uncovered nights. Any tips for keeping your heat, but allowing chlorine to dissipate after shocking?
Solar mat under the pool…just saying. Are you in Kanata ?
I upgraded from the 110,000BTU unit by Hayward but the issue I have is that it is not as straightforward for connecting it to an external control panel, also Hayward. Can you address this and how to connect it to an external control panel? Thanks Are you in Ottawa ?
Is a solar cover beater or solar panels like homemade ones
You're a naughty boy
I have an 8-foot bestways above ground pool I'm using a 3 kW pool heater I'm sure it's called nano Splash or something like that and also using a solar cover we're in the UK I just want to know no will it keep the heat in the pool better keeping the pool cover on on over the solar cover or should I take the black cover off of the top to let the sun get the bubble wrap or will I lose more heat that way rather than keeping the main cover over as well this is while I'm using the pool heater Service area Kanata??
Question. When topping of an 18' round above ground pool, would it be better to bypass the water softener? Thx
Hmm how about add hot water
What if i used all those cheap ways in one 🤔🤔
For the Solar cover it only warmed the top and it was ice on the bottom
Can’t you just use bubble wrap? 🤣. Lol
Can you use the heating system from an old hot tub? There's usually a few for free on Craigslist.
…all three of them are the same solution…
What a load of crap, the solar blankets break down in full sun and should never be left on your pool.
If you want to heat a pool really really cheaply… Just take out the hose spread it all over yer backyard then wait the longer you wait for the hotter the water will be more when it's done just turn on the water and there should hopefully be some hot water.
I bought several solar rings and NEVER noticed much difference in water temp plus they are quick to develop air leaks and like solar covers a pain in the butt to take off and on the pool. You might gain a little if your using them to just get through a couple cooler nights but the bottom line is if it’s cold at night and not as warm during the day those solar covers and rings are a waste of money.
Heat Pump
3 cheap ways…. use a solar cover. thats one way in three different varieties.
building a solar water heater attached to a water pump would be another way.
Coffee better be mine😂
What could I use to heat the water in an inflatable water slide Service area Orleans??
Can u boil water and put it in there?
All those methods do not heat the pool. I've tried them with a big – fail.
Thank you slurpy ,liked the video Service area Ottawa??

I want a standard wood fireplace with coiled pipes above the fire. We have so much wood lying around anyway
If your here and want way to heat your pool basically for free and no effort , it's easy in the morning sellotape some black bin bags together to create a sheet , use garden pegs and lay it over the surface of the water , don't let it sink it needs to be sat on the water peg it in place leave it for a few hours by midday early afternoon the pool will be nice and warm deapending on size and depth , my kids pool is like 8ft wide and about 2 – 3 ft deep and this works like a charm ,
Try some new solutions from Avasva solutions.
Hi fellows. I think you need to take some time and take a fast tour on woodprix website to learn how to make it. Service area Nepean??
