In this video, Joshua Griffin goes through the state of the HVAC industry, why numbers were down last year, and why those numbers may continue. He goes through some of the decisions that homeowners are having to make when buying HVAC and what they seem to be deciding. With the industry, changing so quickly, efficiency, standards, updating, and new refrigerants/products coming out… The HVAC industry is changing fast.

As a tech in the field I've never had to break down our pricing with customers like I have in 2023/24 so far. Inflation inflation inflation

Unrestricted airflow and setting the controller to a higher temperature than desired were the keys to getting my Daikin MXL 18,000 BTU enhanced capacity system to maintain the downstairs deired temperature of 22 C. Although I had cleared everything in front of the indoor unit, the sideboard was within 4 inches of the left air intake. I moved it as far as I could to give an 18 inch gap to the floor unit. Now, it would maintain 22 C to -7 C. Finally, an opportunity came again, and I turned the controller up to 24 C. Then 22 C was maintained right down to -12 C. That was as low as it got.

I work with supporting inverter systems. They do great things but they are going to be part of the weapon used to crush people.

Our system is old 1995 – R- 22 Trane condensing unit and a American Standard 2008 air handler with a questionable evaporator core as our HVAC guy is quick to point this out ! We were told by our HVAC guy that prices would be much higher for new R-545b system ,almost double! I think our system is 2-1/2 ton unit. The price they gave us for the R- 410 a was 10 to 12 ,000!!!

I'm retired out of the business but my R22 system is 20 years old. It's fine now but I sure don't want to replace it with a semi-obsolete unit when the time comes. You help keep me up to date. Are you in Barrhaven ?
