In this video, Joshua discusses some of the marketing techniques that HVAC contractors use that you may not be aware of. Every company needs to market and get themselves out there so customers are aware. Some of these techniques are used regularly when the customer may not even be aware of them. Does that make the service company bad? Maybe not. But you as the consumer should be aware of some of these techniques so you can make an informed decision.

4th marketing tip, make a YouTube video of other a/c company marketing techniques, come on Griffin Air, just about every business have some sort of marketing plan just like you are trying to do.
Very informative video!! I recently got a quote to replace 4 ton AC condenser, evaporator coils, Plenum, pan, 16 SEER, single stage cooling. Attic job. Replace one small section of ductwork that leads to a bedroom, where the current duct is smaller than the rest of the ducts. 80,000 BTU. Gas heater/furnace. 1900 square-foot home. $11,500. Carrier or Heil brand. In your opinion, does that sound like a reasonable price? Are you in Nepean ?
Another technique they will use is a fake heat load. Rule 1, if your estimate doesnt include a heat load/gain go find another contractor! Rule 2, If it does include one don't be afraid to verify it. If it is an existing house you will only need a whole house load, not a room by room. Don't be afraid to look at the numbers. Heat loads will be broken into directional walls. Pick the north wall and then count the glass in square feet. If you have 2 4×4 windows on your north wall and the load is saying 86sft. of glass you know its not your load. As more and more inspectors are requiring a heat load as they should, more unscrupulous guys are just filing a bunch of somewhat similar loads and putting your name on it. All modern boilers are equipped with outdoor reset controls and it is imperative that not only a manual J heat load is performed on the structure but also a radiator size and EDR count is performed. There is no way you can determine the heating curve without these two factors. If the home owner just educates himself a little bit it can be very easy to pick out the phonies. Elon Musk had a question he ask to job applicants for Space x. If I walk a mile south, turn right and walk a mile west then turn right again and walk a mile north and end up right where I started, Where am I? With a few simple questions you can weed right through your prospects just like Elon lol
That last tip is key. Find somebody you can trust and have an honest transparent repertoire with.
