Today's video I Wanted to talk about a particular product that we have come to like and know on our YouTube channel. We get approached by companies all the time. companies that want to sponsor our content. They want to send us products.
they'll say Hey try our product, say nice things about us and it's always been important to me to only promote and align ourselves with products that we actually believe in. One of those products. along the way, who has now sponsored some of our content and is sponsoring this video is a company called Aeros Seal And in today's video I Wanted to talk about five reasons why I think Aeros Seal is a company, that the product itself is a good decision for most homeowners and we're going to go through this. but I also want to say that at the end of this video, we're going to talk about a little bit of a bonus one.
So I guess you could say six reasons, but our bonus one may surprise you. It's something that a lot of folks don't think about. So anyway, let's dive into this. five reasons why I think Aeros Seal is a good idea and possibly something that you should choose for your next.
Home Improvement Purchase number one: It has been proven to save you money on your utility bills in our homes. One of the biggest utility consumers is our HVAC systems keeping us comfortable all times of the year, whether it's keeping us warm or cool. In a lot of cases, that largest consumer is the HVAC system. And what a lot of folks don't realize is one of the largest energy wasters is the duct work.
Some ducks, if not tested, can be leaking as much as 30% of the energy that your heating and air system is producing, and some homeowners have reported back as seeing enough savings after having Aeros seal installed in their home. It will actually pay for itself within 2 to three years that they're saving enough money on their utility bills after the fact. Number two: Actually improving the performance performance of your heating and air system. Some duct work issues can lead to problems with some rooms being hotter than others colder than others.
Leaky duct work can lead to hot and cold spots in the house, and if that is the reason you're having those issues, having Aeros seal installed in your home can help evenly distribute that air throughout the home. sealing those holes and leaky problems in the duct work, and of course, making you feel more comfortable in your home. So not only are you saving energy, but you're also more comfortable able. Number three: Improving the indoor air quality.
The air that you're breathing Leaky duct work can allow dust, pollen, and other allergens into your home. A lot of us would never go into our crawl space and spend a whole lot of time. You certainly wouldn't invite guests who have come to your home to come, say, spend the evening in the crawl space. You're not going to be watching a late night football game, eating some wings, or whatever it is you do with your guests. That seems to be what we always do. One of my best friends, he always brings his family over and we seem to be watching football and letting the kids run around. But I would not allow them to spend time in my crawl space. And a lot of folks don't realize.
Even though they would never invite their guests to spend time in their crawl space because of the Leaky duct work, they are allowing their guest to breathe air from their crawl space because leaky duct work can pull in that air. If you've got a duck that's running through there and it's not completely sealed, it's pulling air into your home and your breathing. That number four Protect your heating and air equipment. Leaky ducks can cause extra strain on your HVAC system.
It can lead to premature wear and tear and sealing that duct work with Aeros seal has been shown to prolong the life of your heating and air system. If your system is now pushing air through sealed ducts and it's reaching temperature sooner than it used to, it's able to turn off less wear and tear, less mileage being put on that system. And so now not only are you saving money on the utility bill bill, but you might be saving money on future repairs and Replacements because of less mileage being put on that system. And then finally, number five.
The process itself. Having Aeros seal installed in your home is a minimally invasive process. Usually a company will come to your home and have it installed within a few hours. They're going to test that system before they do the installation, and then they're going to test that system after the installation to make sure that you are getting a significant improve.
Improvement The duct work is sealed better than it was and you should see the things we've now talked about. You should see the better air quality, lower utility bills, and so on. There's no need to open up walls, tear down, drywall, disrupt your home dramatically in most cases. And then finally, number six today.
Homeowners more than ever are concerned about our impact on the environment, the carbon footprint that we are making on this world. And when you're having Aeros Seal Seal the ducts in your house, it's a great Green Solution that can help reduce that carbon footprint. by sealing your Ducks you'll be using less energy, which means fewer greenhouse gas emissions. I'm going to put a link to Aeros seal down in the description of this video.
Check out that link if you reach out to Aeros Seal. They should be able to provide you with a contractor who can provide you with an estimate, show you the before and after of the product being installed, and have you well on your way to seeing some of these dramatic changes that we talked about in this video. Again, we don't just talk about anybody on our Channel We've been approached by other companies and it's always been important to me to only talk about the good ones. So I believe AOS Seal is one of the good ones. I Think you will too. Check out that website. Thanks for watching. We'll see you in the next one.
Okay long post speaking to homeowners:
This is a more complex problem to solve then it might appear, just keep an eye on your humidity levels if trying to use a one dimensional solution.
If a contractor is offering a nice solution like aerosol they, like Griffin Air, should be sophisticated enough to explain the entire picture.
(For reference this explanation is centric to locations with higher humidity, speak to your local contractor.)
As you reduce energy loss your system runs less, yay right?
Unfortunately probably not, as your system can’t remove humidity when it’s not on.
In fact the best systems run very long cycles just in a way that uses less energy.
Humidity levels heavily impact your perception of the temperature, think how it can get muggy in the home and you turn the temp down in the summer, or you find it chilly at 70 in the winter when 70 might feel good to you in the summer.
If the humidity gets high or low enough, it becomes quite miserable and unhealthy.
Ideally, you should preform your energy saving improvements before you replace your HVAC system, not after (but basically every one does it the other way around). I strongly recommend you communicating these improvements to your HVAC contractor. If they, even after this information, do not do a load calculation, do not use them! Find someone who will, because the chance you’ll need to reduce the size of your system is almost certainly 100% (dependent on how many improvements you made).
Foaming attics penetration crawlspace then insulating. Mastic all joints on ductwork, pipe runs or flex connections. Air sealing very important. Running blower door test before and after. Are you in Orleans ?
