Night swimming is one of the best byproducts of owning a swimming pool, but it's really not fun. If it's not well lit, in fact it can be scary. Actually, so, let's talk about led lighting shopping for a pool. Light can be confusing.

I totally understand there is a lot of options out there, but if you had to choose one, i would recommend going with an led light, and here are five reasons. Why reason number one is led lights last longer than standard pool lights? In fact, have you ever gone swimming or wanted to go night swimming and you go to turn on your light and the light bulb blows out? Well, i have, and it sucks so. The good thing about led lights is that they're, durable and they're rated to last 7 to 15 years, so it'll be a really long time before you have to go in and change any light bulbs reason number two for choosing led lights for your pool. Is that you'll save money owning a pool is costly as it is so.

Why increase your monthly bill, in fact, to run an led light? It only costs pennies a day where an incandescent light bulb costs like a dollar a day. So if you're looking to save money, i know it's going to cost more money up front, but in the long run you'll save it's an investment reason number three for having led pool lights is you can create your own exotic backyard oasis i mean. Have you ever swam in a pool with an incandescent light? I mean it gets the job done, but it's ugly, i mean it's warm. It's yellowish, it's it's! No bueno uh.

The good thing about led lights is that you can add color and even the white light. The standard led light creates this like nice, blue color, which goes really well with a crystal clear pool, and you can customize led lights in really really cool ways. Reason number four is you'll use your pool. More often, i mean night swimming, that's using your pool.

More often - and you can throw really really interesting parties, which leads me to my next reason: number: five throw festive holiday parties. Now the cool thing about led lights is they're totally customizable and you can change the color. So let's say you're holding a fourth of july party, red white and blue. Let's say: you're have your pool open during christmas, red and green and for that labor day party at the end of the summer white right, bonus tip.

Today's bonus tip is brought to you by jandy, nicholas, led lights. If you're gon na go and choose an led lighting system for your pool, i highly recommend going with jandy nicholas, led lights, and here are three reasons: why number one they don't require bonding or traditional niches to be installed? Number two is that they're energy efficient and 250 times brighter than the first generation models, which means you'll, save money in the long run and light your pool better and number three. There are nine different colors to choose from yeah nine and they also work with the eye aqua link. So you can automate your lights from anywhere.

i have replaced 3 ip88 rated led lights in 3 years, at $350 each, due to moisture ingress, so they dont last longer at all. beware

I have Jandy LED lights (they are amazing!) and use them via my iaqualink app. It is brand new so i know very little. How do I customize my lights? for example I know red is in there because it it is in the USA light option but not available on its own.

most led's do not attract bugs, the warmer the color, the better.  if you have a cool color 5000k+ you might attract some bugs.

What about bugs? I've been told LED lights won't attract bugs. Is this true? We've only had our pool for two years and bugs are the main reason we haven't gone swimming at night.
