All right so jessica brought this back from craig, her wonderful husband to show a contactor, that's actually corroded and it doesn't it gets. It actually gets physically stuck. So you might be able to get it unstuck, but something to know about contactor or any sort of relay is that you've got an electromagnet here and if it's not able to fully engage, it will draw a high current. So if you get a contactor that sticks, open, it'll actually draw high current and can damage the internal components because in some cases it'll actually draw enough that it damages the transformer thermostat whatever but doesn't actually blow the fuse.
So it's actually kind of a nasty little problem. This is a good example of it. Clearly moisture got into this bad boy. Somehow it's rainy in florida,.
I get ants in mine 🙁 Are you in Ottawa ?
Damn good video, I replaced all capacitors, come to find out it was this, hope this video goes viral for us on a budget guys living out in the middle of nowhere.
Must be a shore front home, grade level machine, facing west north west, or it sets out on the pool deck, eight feet to the chlorinated water…and the foot rinse..ha !
Hencho en China..no anodized metals.. Service area Kanata??
Had one other day welded shut on electrical heat kit
How many ohms is the coil? Should be around 10 on that one
Nice looking forward to this.
How can it short , transformer , tstat etc… before low voltage fuse !? I have seen it happened , but I don't know how.
Nice topic!
Nice short video
