Hey thanks for showing an interest in the HVC industry. I think it's something that you will find rewarding if you have the right mindset going into it, so we're making this quick, video from field technicians, people who work in this field and all different elements to tell you what they like about the trade and some things That you may need to know before you choose HVAC our heating, ventilating air conditioning and refrigeration as a career. Take a look so what I love most about! What I do is how much I am still challenged every day, how much room there is for growth in this industry. What I like most about this trade is: is it a diversity it's really being able to solve real world problems on a daily basis? It's getting to go new places, seeing new people and seeing things I've never seen before it brings you a sense of pride when you fix something you know, people are happy that they have heat again and happy to have air-conditioning again.

Happy they're cooler work, so the freezer works again. Cuz I like knowing that I've made a difference in people's lives when I'm finished with the job you're not just going to fall into greatness. It takes a lot of intentionality to learn what you need to learn in order to be excellent. At this you got to study every day.

There is a huge difference between the people who know what they're doing and people who care what they're doing it takes a lot of dedication. You have to know that you know our bread and butter is the summer you're. The kind of guy, a girl that loves to go out, have fun on your summers off and you can get. You know have enjoy your time, but you've got to know that.

That's where we make our money some days are gon na be long. Some days are gon na be hard. Some days, they're gon na be easy. This job is a very physical in height any job.

You need to be ready to work and you need to be ready to continue your education. This trade is not easy. It takes a lot of hard work but again, like I said earlier, it's very rewarding work having the humility to admit when you're wrong, that you don't have such a big ego and that's that's probably the fastest way. You're gon na learn and you're also gon na gain respect from the senior Tech's that have been doing this for years.

I think the most important characteristic for any service technician in this trade for success would be to take an interest and what they do not already know. The characteristic, I think, is most important for an HVAC architect is character. You should always want to learn every day. Take home something to read at night, take home more from your instructors, if you're learning in a class but always ask for more information and absorb as much as you can, the ability to adapt.

I think the most important terroristic that HVAC tech needs to have is being versatile, hopefully you'll, take what these technicians said to heart and I hope you'll choose a career in heating, ventilating, air conditioning or refrigeration. Thanks for watching.

I feel depressed or discouraged as of lately. I am all of these things and can not find a job at all where I live. I have been trying to find the right company to work for with little to no luck.

Most of your success or failure will come thru your own personal characteristics such as being likeable by your boss and clients and always learning. Along the lines of likeability includes having a positive attitude always, see the good in tough situations, being humble, being correctable, being a no call back thorough tech, smile, be friendly, appropriately joke around, have positive language and non-verbal, use first names, when talking to a superior use the word sir. I have promoted more people based on a great attitude because there great to be around. When your pleasant to be around clients literally want you to come back, coworkers want to be with you, the company owner wants you around him (in a supervisor role) because your literally making his/her day more pleasant.

Putting your EGO in your back pocket and being open minded will take you very far in this trade. Passing on the knowledge I’ve acquired to another tech is also very rewarding to me . Thanks for passing on your knowledge and wisdom Brian ! Are you in Nepean ?

I started learning this trade in 1985 on the USS Fairfax County LST-1193. And I found it fascinating how one observed problem could be caused by multiple factors. Or a combination of factors.
    The job makes you THINK.

Personally I like to just be told this isn’t working and this is where it’s at, go fix it.

I can’t count the times I’ve been a a bank or some other commercial establishment where ask what I think the problem is and replying that I think many things but have yet to prove it.

New technology is just a reason to learn more. I’ve come across equipment with some crazy control schemes which has me step back and learn how the manufacturer intended it to work and go from there.

Fascinating job, but some days do suck which a part of being alive.

If more pay means a better technician, then I don't know how to fix anything so I just tell them they need to replace the unit and I make more in commission than you
