Most companies that build manufactured homes have a way they do the HVAC system and aren't interested in changing that. Some will let you get quotes from HVAC companies and just connect. I believe it's best to get as many quotes and options as possible to consider the pros and cons. You may be able to get a much more efficient system for the same price.
Considering your options and getting outside opinions is the best way to make sure you're doing what's best for your home.

Hey guys before we get to the video for more tips and tricks in the heating and air industry, please click that subscribe button. Thank you. Hey guys, joshua griffin here and the new hvac guide, wanted to do a quick video on something that is now all the rage, at least in our area. We're seeing more and more folks get away from what we used to call stick built houses which basically means you're building a house from the ground.

Up now, we're seeing more folks go into what we call manufactured houses, so the house itself is made into either one or several boxes that they will build in a factory ship to your home. Put it all together and then finish the installation and i'm not going to get into all the which one's better and blah blah blah. There are people way smarter than me that you could probably find videos on that. We'll talk about the pros and cons of each, but what i wanted to do is talk about the hvac side of things, the heating and air side of things, because i'm seeing some trends and don't get me wrong.

These guys that build these, they build them every day. So you know it's not that i don't think they have your best interest at heart, but me on the outside. Looking in at times, we've seen things that, i would say, are not top-notch if that makes sense, and i don't mean that in a bad way at all, like i'm, not saying they're doing anything wrong or anything, you need to worry about. All i'm saying is sort of like when we do an installation and we kind of give the customer a good, better best, you're, not getting the best.

If that makes sense and a lot of these manufactured housing we're seeing an electric furnace, just like you would see in say a mobile home installed, and then we have to come behind it and either install the ductwork and reconnect to all that, and then, of course, Set the outdoor unit stretch the line, sets and so on. Now. Why does that matter? I think in the grand scheme of things again, these guys build these all the time. I think that if you were to just run it by them and see what their thoughts are, they may just tell you why you know we think it's the best to do this way and and so on and get that feedback.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but all i'm saying is is if you're building a house a manufactured house, i would consider getting your quotes separately if they will give you that opportunity so that you can get the pros and cons good, better and best from Several different opinions, if that were to make sense, and what i mean by that is, if i were involved from the very beginning, there are times when i would have cautioned the customer away from something that now once it's built and it's in place, you kind of Don't have a choice so, for example, you can't go ductless now now that they've installed a unit, that's ducted! If that makes sense, you may not want ductless, of course, but i'm just using that as an example. I just want you to be aware that if it is on the table, if it's a possibility for you to be able to get outside opinions and them to come in and install the hvac right from the get-go, not just install the ductwork and connect to what They've done when they built the parts of the house, then you may get some better options: some more efficient options: electric furnaces are not the most efficient thing on the market, they're fine. They serve a purpose, but they're not gon na hit the same efficiencies that we are seeing with some of this newer technology type stuff. So just wanted to throw that out there if you're, building a house and you're getting some ideas and some options and looking around see, if that's an option see if you can get quotes outside of the company.
Sometimes you can't. I had an actual family member that wanted to use us to install their heating and air stuff and the manufactured housing folks said nope. We only use these folks good or bad. I would just go down that road.

If you could. I hope that helps thanks for watching. The last thing i'll say is: if you're in the market for a new heating and air system and you're in virginia and the middle peninsula or the northern neck, give griffin air a call. We'll give you a free estimate and the best warranty in the area, but if you're not in our coverage area check out my new website, i've even got a little banner up here.

Newhvacguide.Com check out that site, because we've put so much information on there. It's as if i wrote a book telling folks, hey here's, the good and the bad avoid this or that i've even got a whole page called no no's things to stay away from, and so before. You spend thousands check out that website and finally for more tips and tricks in the heating and air industry. Click that subscribe button thanks for watching.

I think any unit other than a Nordyne/Intertherm you must be doing good. I see Carrier partnered with Clayton homes to provide furnaces just for their manufactured houses
