Hey guys before we get to the video, please click that subscribe button for more heating and air tip, hey guys, Josh for Griffin, Air, serving the middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck of Virginia wanted to do a video on how you can save money on gas and More specifically, propane LP is what we call it in our industry, sometimes because, if you're in a city that has natural gas right now, that's one of the most efficient types of heating out there right now. But what happens is if you get outside in more rural areas, we're seeing folks with furnaces that have LP gas and other means of heating their homes, so wanted to do a video on how you three tips on how you can save energy with your gas furnace And so tip number one, and I was going to do a whole video on this, but I'm gon na just highlight it real, quick and that is dual fuel systems. Okay, so if you don't know what dual fuel is, dual fuel is, where you have an outdoor heat pump instead of just straight AC and the goal is on milder days instead of burning gas, you know just straight gas, maybe you don't need that kind of heat Rise on a mild day, I mean you obviously need that kind of you know extra umph on a cold January day, but if it's a mild spring or fall day, you don't need to be burning gas. You know you can have a very efficient high seer heat pump outside running on those milder days and you're, not burning any gas, so that would be tip number one.

Maybe look at doing a dual fuel system. Instead of a one heat, one cool type of system tip number two would be look at the AFU ratings on the furnaces that you're about to install seer. If it's an air conditioning, you definitely want to look at the seer number and and whether or not it's an you, know, inverter system and things like that to save energy and as far as saving gas, the more efficient it is the higher that a fu number Will be and then the final tip that I'll give you on saving money when running your gas furnace, extended fan run time on your thermostat. So not all thermostats have this feature, but if you have it, you can turn on your extended fan.

Run time on your heating cycle and the you know, the thought process is, if you have this hot heat, exchanger you've already paid you've already burned the gas to heat up that heat exchanger. What is you know the best way to get the most out of that? Already warm heat exchanger and you know just turning on that extended family time. You know. What's going to happen, is your your thermostat calls for heat? It's gon na run heat up that heat exchanger.

It blows warm in your house and then after it reaches temperature. The gas will stop, but you can still get a little bit more heating. Out of you know, just blowing air across that already warmed up heat exchanger if you're in our coverage area give us a call at eight. Oh four, five! Oh five, zero! Two, four! Seven! If you're, not in our coverage area, you're welcome to send me a message on youtube comment on the video.

Josh is 1,000 percent spot on.

    1. Well insulated and good seals on windows and doors. Its worth the money and the cheapest you will spend on saving energy costs.
    2. Dual use is a must. I have a heat pump Seer 17 & LP Gas furnace 97% efficient). I am on Heat pump until 32 degrees, then the system will switch over to LP Gas. but only when outdoor temp is at 32 degrees or below.
    3. Dual stage Fan; it runs in high speed to kick up the heat for 5 minutes and then runs in low speed. I can set the time for it to continuous run from 5PM until 8 AM when we are home…and its usually mid Dec, Jan, Feb, thru mid March. Its good to run circulation most of the time in this area from (Jan, Feb, March) for the humidifier and then again in July-Aug for the dehumidifier.

I would say the system has saved me no less than 1,500 a year in LP Gas. I have 4,100 sq. feet of house.
