How's your morning going mine, yeah mine, started with a uh 4 a.m. Wake-Up call to go, do a scheduled job to install three new omni temp evaporator coils and a 10 drawer lineup all scheduled. You know let the customer know the night before two of my other service techs. We all were on site on time and uh.
The customer never showed that's fun right. We still get to charge for the time, but it's still frustrating getting up for that. Early.
Sounds like you are not charging enough?
In my book that’s free lunch for a month yo
🤦
That sucks. Hope u have a Dennys in ur area
I love weekend emergency calls from 3rd party providers. EMS tells them a unit is down and tech needed ASAP. Show up and no one at the store even knew there was a problem. Service area Kanata??
I charge 250 to show up.
If I show up and any customer materials and needed personnel are there I credit the customer 75% of that 250 toward the bill.
If not I get paid to wait and for the inconvenience.
Time lost at the start of the job means time added at the end of the day. Unprepared customers when I show up is why I started the 250 fee. Are you in Orleans ?

Ah, yesterday when you said tomorrow, did you mean today. 🤣🤦🏽♂️🤯
I started an AAON upgrade yesterday of all the boards. Finishing it up today with programn and start up. Stay safe and be well Chris! Are you in Ottawa ?
Had some oil spill in my van, cleaned it, now going 2 1/2 hours to replace a ice machine magnet switch
The customer was sleeping one off. Are you in Barrhaven ?
Broke a piece of my deburr tool off inside of compressor
I woke up at 3 am with this hell of a pain shooting through chest and arms finally got it stop then woke up at 9.45AM I clock in at 9.59 am so not so good
I had to wake up at 4:00am not too long ago. That was for Walmart’s Black Friday and believe me I did not want to don my company uniform that early in the morning.
Several years ago was a call from customer, from engineer(!): a/c indoor unit doesn't work. 2 hours of traffic jams and what do you think, the client simply did not turn on the split from the remote control… Sometimes some people must be beaten.
I did one at 1am for a no heat on a commercial VVT system in December -12F . Spoke to the owner of the mechanical company and drove the 45min to get there . I get there and none is on site. I call and no answers. I look inside the window and see the sensor reading 68 degree . A total waste of time . I was fired shortly after that for BS .
We get emergency calls that are two hours away sometimes in the middle of the night. The issue? They need a maintenance.
Irresponsibility is frustrating. Hope the sunrise was pretty at least! Service area Nepean??
Is that a kink in the liquid line or what are we looking at there? Not familiar with these coils.
Can you charge this "sleepy bag" extra money for fake, early, call?
Shit happens. Some sort of people only begin to understand what happening when you start hitting them…
A blow to the jaw – instead of a thousand words.
Sounds like you’ll be a little tired and dragging butt today at the end of the day.
It’s even worse if it happens on your day off on a Saturday morning
Sorry for your pain, brother.
if i got up at 4am especially at this time of year where my body is already chewed up and beat down and he didn't show i'd shit on his front door and leave LOL
Now that's what I call responsibility on the customer's part…NOT!
That's how I remember some of my service "emergency" calls were when I had my own gardening firm, some customer calls and needs their garden spiffed up because some in-laws are coming. Then when I arrive there and discuss what needed to get done, get the contract in order – the customer don't even show up.
I still sent them a bill for the time wasted, they didn't pay thou.
