The Santa Ana winds are no joke
In southern california, we have the santa ana winds happen, sometimes two times a year, crazy, wind gusts, up to 70 miles an hour. It ripped this panel off okay. It still has screws my rules of having up to three to four screws in every panel. My guys are following it: they're all still there, but it's straight just ripped the panel off this is nuts.
It was tucked underneath here and we also had uh exhaust fan. It broke the brackets off of it. Look at they're still connected. There was screws in there.

The winds are no joke but California sure is.

Yup! Our power got shut off on Thanksgiving cause of the damn wind here in the mountains… That damage is pretty gnarly, dude

No joke, indeed! I remember back in the early '70s when we had sustained winds of 60 mph, with gusts of nearly 100 MPH in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles). It was brutal.

Carrier panels are funny that way . Expensive to replace to boot
I've never seen a more frequently destroyed panel than that exact one on those Carrier units. Those panels have horrible integrity.

I would enjoy seeing your reaction to winds in parts of NM. I can gust off and on here over 80 for the better part of 8 months. I often joke with my wife about her students blowing away on the playground. Kids here make games out of running into dust devils and seeing how long you can stay in the eye.
