Franco D from DiversiTech tells us a bit about the Asurity product line. The Asurity line changes how we think about condensate management, and products include drain pans, condensate pumps, and drain treatments.
The Pro-Treat line guard is one of the drain treatments on the market, and it stops bacterial zoogloea growth, which is a snot-like growth that happens to be a major problem in our Floridian market. The line guard goes into the condensate drainage system and is infused with silver and copper ions as well as a polymer to prevent bacterial zoogloea. To use it, you run the line guard through the condensate line and secure it in place with a zip tie. The DiversiTech lab tests have determined that the line guard may provide up to 20 years of efficacy, though real-world conditions have yet to be tested.
Asurity also has a waterless trap, which is a trap that works on negative-pressure systems and uses the force of gravity on a ball inside the trap to block the hole on the inside.
The Ultra condensate pump family of products has gone through many evolutions as technicians have given their feedback over the years. You can see into the Ultra tank so that you can determine the cleanliness without wasting time taking an opaque pump apart to realize that it was clean all along. It's also easy to handle this pump because it accumulates water in a depression at the bottom.
Asurity also has a condensate pump pan, which creates redundancy in the condensate management system to have a backup system in place in case the main system fails. These drain pans must also be fitted with a switch to increase redundancy even further and reduce the risk of overflowing and damage.
One other product we learned about was a quiet Undermount pump for ductless units. The Undermount has been designed to be as quiet as possible and aesthetically pleasing for units in plain sight. It is also very easy to clean out due to its accessibility.

I'm here with franco from diversitech at the third annual hvacr symposium here in claremont at kalos hq and we're going to talk through some of the surety line, which i guess to start with. Tell me a little bit about what a surety is. What does that contain? Yep, so a surety is a different way of thinking about condensate management, so kind of say management is taking water from your air conditioning unit, which is a water pump in the end, creating water and bringing it to where you want it on purpose and historically, people Have thought about it from a bits and pieces standpoint right and not thinking about it from a whole holistic system? And that was the idea around a surety and helping the contractors understand that, so they could get the right pieces for their particular install yeah. Thinking about everything and more as a system rather than as individual pieces, that's right, that's critical! So a surety is that line within kind of the diversitec family.
That's right! Um, one of the products that i'm most interested and excited about is this protreat line guard. So tell me a little bit about this sure so in in the markets uh in in this market in particular, uh there's an issue with growth and it's you know the zugler growth. As you can see here, it's very prevalent. It comes back two three four times a year depending on the environment, and so we developed this product uh and we call it protreat line guard and it's infused with copper and silver and a polymer on the line.
So what you do is you run a chase through your condensate line and then you pull it out with a vacuum, and then you tie this and pull this back through the line, and this is intended to be in the condensate line throughout the year and our Testing in the lab on accelerated basis is showing a 20-year efficacy around preventing zuglia growth right. You said, 20 years 20 years in 90 years, okay in the lab, and we recognize that the lab is not a real world environment, but that's a starting point right. So for now, uh we're saying one to two years: right: uh in real world environment and as we gain more and more data and actual real world feedback, we'll keep upping what what those claims are. So it could be 20, but it could be less and you just want to be so.
We feel confident between one and two years in in typical florida type environments yeah. So i think a lot of people they. They might see this and like seriously. This is going to keep growth from occurring, but copper and silver we've demonstrated in the field.
We've done this in ductless pans and some other circumstances does actually work against that bacterial zuglia, and it also can help with algae and other things as well. So there's. Actually, this is actually demonstrated. It's scientific fact.
It's not it's not something. That's you know science fiction, which kind of maybe sounds like that um. So if i'm understanding this right, you pull it through the drain through the entire drain assembly through the drain line assembly and then and the outlet is there some sort of catch or something that you use in order to keep it from pulling back through? Or does that work? It's real simple! You just take a zip tie and you tie it on the inside of the drain pan the primary pan like like here and you could just tie it to anything that would keep it from pulling back in right yeah. So you just tie it to the tube or whatever, with the zip tie going back in. What's important is it does not kill it prevents growth got it, so you have to clean it up. You have to clean it out first, and then you put the line in and you're all set, and once you have that larger line in you can use that as a chase for follow-ups yeah. So when we say bacterials uglia, we kind of jumped forward a lot of folks just call it elephants, not they do and that's that's that's a gross name. It's very i'm not gon na call we're not we're.
Not gon na call it that here, that's not corporate. Safe, it is zooglia but yeah, it's if you run into these cases where you're getting these you know common. You have to go back over and over and over again certain markets like throughout the gulf coast. This is really common and i think it's a great product that can act as an upsell on a service call but really provides a great value to the customer.
So that's right really like this product all right. So let's talk about some of the condensate pump products that we have actually, let's start with the water, the strap. Actually, let's look at that yeah. That's a pretty interesting product as well.
So this is a product uh. It's called a waterless trap and, as the name implies, it's a trap that does not need water, that is waterless. In fact, it works on negative pressure systems and it uses the gravity of the ball to to plug up the hole, and so this is great in situations where the peat, where the trap can dry out and and now you lose that or where it can freeze Or situations where you don't have the clearance to do a trap right, so you would install you would install this very easy product to install. We recommend a union, so you can take it apart and clean it.
It opens up and it allows you to clean the inside as as needed. Yeah super easy super simple: here's our new uh ultra uh ultra pump when we design products, we really talk to technicians and really understand what are issues that they're real real-world issues that they're that they have and what we've heard is when these are all plumbed together. As you can see, um down here on this, you know set up on on the floor. It's should i take it apart to clean it out right and you should, but if it's hard, you may not want to right and a lot of text may skip it and it may result in issues.
That's right. So the concept here is, you can see into the tank, and you know right away if you should do something or not and take the time to take it apart and of course, we made it with our signature, the versatech red just to add a little bit Of collateral flair to it, yeah the signal signature, a surety red, it is signature, red really excited about this product. Here i also like another thing to mention, and this in this i don't know if this is only in the ultra, but one thing i like when you look at it right away is how it has this kind of depression here, and so the water is going To tend to gather in there making it a little easier to pick up too, so it's just there's some nice features about this pump. That are just fundamentally sound that i really appreciate and we have our condensate pump pan. So the concept of the pump pan is from a redundancy standpoint. The surety line is about create redundancy in your condensate management, such that, if any one component fails or clogs, there's a backup right and it at times there isn't a place in the secondary pan. For the pump right, so what do you do there and that's we created a pan for it. So you simply it's real simple put it in here put a uh a switch in the pan as well, and that way, if it triggers, if it overflows, that's a way to capture that and typically would you use like a wet switch or what switch would you Generally run our cs3 or um cs 1200, so any secondary pants, which generally works well, you could use a wet switch as well.
Okay. The last thing we have to show is our new undermount pump for ductless, okay in some markets of the country in some segments of the country. The undermount is the most popular pump right and we had a gap in our line and, and we've developed this, it's it's quiet it. It fits in aesthetically well and yeah.
I, like the square, very kind of uh angular form factor because i think it it looks more natural and matches more systems right right and it's left to right hand. So you can, you can swap it and and make it work with whatever the application is yeah. I mean a lot of you know that, like i'm, not the world's biggest fan of pumping ductless, i know that, but if you have to pump ductless, this is actually my favorite design. The under mount design is a great way because it's much easier to clean, get in and out and getting one that is nice and acidically pleasing makes it much more likely that the customer's going to adopt that versus one of the ones that you jam in behind The wall, or something that might be a little bit more difficult, that's right! If you can't access it, you're not going to clean it exactly if you're not going to clean it, it's not going to perform the way it needs to.
So this one is the easiest pump to to clean, so great good, all right awesome! Well, thank you.
