I'm currently uh, working on this freezer and there's a bunch of stuff going on here. But the first big issue that I saw was this wire was zip tied to this bracket. You should never zip tie wires to brackets like that. If you are going to zip tie it, you want to do a double zip tie.
So that way the wire or cord doesn't ever touch the metal because it'll rub out, especially since it's going the opposite direction. Next thing, don't zip tie them to these because this motor, bracket and everything has to come out when you defrost the coil. And it's ridiculously frustrating if you got to undo all this stuff just to pull a motor to de-ice a coil. Now in this situation, we got a bad motor, so I'll clean it up and make it right.
but cork tape was invented by the devil. I Suggest not using that either unless you absolutely have to.
I should do a Kick Starter for Wireless Motors, LoL.
I too have worked behind the devil. Not a fan of him either
I've never had to pull a fan motor to thaw a coil. Just hook your water hose to the hot water faucet and get after it.
I agree! I hate cork tape! 😖
I absolutely hate those zip ties specially when they cut through the wire and your fan stops working Are you in Orleans ?
Hey, automotive and HVAC have something in common, universal hate for cork.
Cork gaskets are horrible cheap garbage that cause endless trouble with fluid leaks on whatever they're trying to seal. Service area Barrhaven??
good idea on the double zip tie. im going to incorporate that for next time.
I really despise people that use wire nuts too lol, why not solder than together, it’s not like we don’t know how to solder lol.
hey don't blame me! blame my father, God. he's the one works in mysterious ways.
I feel like every industry has some item that is universally abhorred by everyone who works in it.
Ha! Watching this episode now, and couldn’t agree more. Service area Kanata??
do they come from the manufacturer zip tied to the bracket?
My company works for helmer scientific refrigerators and I have to say the only issue with working on their boxes is the cork taped suction lines it gets everywhere it’s humid and hot here so it sticks to everything literally everything.
Cork tape is evil good.
cork tape… more like, dork tape.
I had to deal with some cork tape on a txv bulb in a spot I couldn't get to easily. It was so annoying
That tape is the worst invention ever. The inventor sold his soul to the devil for a million dollar idea and that’s how we ended up with that crap.
One of the milk tank manufactures uses that cork/tar tape on their suction lines, trouble is they often leak and the compressor oil softens the tar and makes it a nightmare to clean up to braze the leak!
😊😊 Are you in Ottawa ?
i see them zip tied from factory
