Hey Pool Owners: Do you need to drain your pool and start over? You might not have to. Even if your water is blackish green, you can clear it up with the right chemicals. And draining your pool can actually be dangerous If you completely drain an above ground pool. The walls can collapse, and if you completely drain an in-ground pool, the entire pool can actually pop out of the ground.
Instead, start by brushing your pool surfaces and testing and balancing your pH and alkalinity. Then add a double, triple, or quadruple dose of shock depending on how bad your water looks. If you do need to drain some water, drain your pool partially and refill it with fresh water, follow us at Swim University for more pool care tips throughout the year.
Can you recommend test strips that actually work for a salt system.
If you don't put some new water in it then you are swimming in "dead" water. Water has life healing properties in it if properly taken care of. 💜
