Which is best? A mesh pool cover or a solid pool cover. A solid cover gives you the most protection. it stops UV Light and water runoff from getting into the pool. And that means you'll have a cleaner pool in the spring.
but since it's solid, you'll need to remove any debris, snow, and rain water that accumulates on top of your cover. During the winter, a mesh cover is easier to maintain. Water won't accumulate on the top and you won't need to clean it off but fine particles. UV Light and runoff can get into the pool and cause algae and bacteria growth, so you'll have a lot more work to do in the spring.

What pool covers do you recommend for an inground pool?
My pool cover my Intex above ground pool cover, was made with holes in it. What are they for excepted let the water breathe? And I suppose a winter cover should be solid with no holes right?

Our pool came with a mesh cover when we bought the house. I used it once. Spring clean up was a hassle. I just maintain the pool year round now. It's much easier.
