It's totally free and will help keep your pool clean and clear all season long.. Number One,, aerate your water. Aeration happens when a water feature like an aerator or a fountain pulls air into your water. And Exposing the water to air helps release heat and cools it down by up to four degrees.
Fahrenheit. Dedicated Aerators are usually attached to the side of your pool and connected to your return line. But Existing water features like a fountain will work as well. For The quickest way to cool your water, run an aerator or fountain at night.
Just Be sure to watch your pH levels. Aerating Your water can actually raise your pH. If You start to aerate your water, and your pH rises dramatically, but all of your other levels stay the same, you might be over aerating. Number Two,, run your pump at night.
Running Your pump during the cooler night temperatures helps circulate and release some of the heat in the pool. And If you're running an aerator or a fountain at night as well,, the pump will help amplify and circulate that cooler water. Number Three,, stop using solar covers. Solar Covers help reduce water evaporation.
They Also trap in heat from the sun. So If you're trying to cool down your pool,, avoid using a solar cover. They Can raise your water temperature by 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit, so wait to use them in cooler weather. Number Four,, add some shade.
Installing An umbrella or canopy over your pool can help protect it from the heat and sun. While It might not entirely cover your pool's surface, it can help reduce the heating effect of direct sunlight. And Number five, install a pool chiller.. A Dedicated pool chiller or a heat pump with a cooling function is the most powerful way to cool down your pool water.
After All your pool water has circulated through the chiller,, your pool should be about five to 10 degrees cooler. While It's the most effective option at cooling off your water, it's also the most expensive. But If the other cooling strategies didn't work,, a pool chiller might be worth the cost of installation. Hi , firstly I like to thank you and the team for helping me turn my green pool back to cleanish but I made a school boy error I thought the bleach / clorine I purchased was pursue and soap free , but after using it it began to slightly foam I read the small print on the bottle to see it contained it , Do you have any advise on how I can reduce the affect of the shop in it , please , 🙏 I'd be very thankful 👍
The only option available to me is the one you didn't count – dumping in a bunch of ice. I may buy a few bags and dump them in after sundown. Service area Orleans??
Man, can you do a vid on water features? I have a waterfall and my PH levels are always up. I’m wondering if I should run it significantly more or less. Usually just run it for 1 hour a day. I read something about lowering your alkalinity to stop the off gassing too. Very lost on this one

A cover and a dark bottom pool ours is high 80s low 90s most the summer. Cant take off the cover due to too much evaporation. All the cold water is in the deep end..so if you swim around and stir up the water it mixes and helps. Mostly ill turn on the hose for 20 min if its in the 90s and i want to go in..but it also feels kinda nice..but bad for plaster.
I moved my pool into the shade of some mesquite trees this year for this reason. Now I have a love/hate realtionship with those trees. I love that they shade the pool from the blistering desert sun. Hate all the debree they drop into the pool. I'm thinking next year trying shade cloth instead. I may try an airator next year too. Not sure if it would have done any good this summer. The tenoerafure has yet to get below 96 this summer. Are you in Barrhaven ?
