Hey Pool Owners: is your water cloudy but your chemical levels look fine. Here are three reasons why this could be happening: Number one: your filter needs cleaning. A dirty filter can cause cloudy water. Check your filter's pressure gauge.

If it's over 10 psi, it's time to backwash or clean your filter grids. Number two: you just shocked your pool. After shocking, the dead, contaminants will float around and Cloud up your pool water. You can use a clarifier or flocculent to help clear it up.

    If you have a variable speed pump and you’ve been trying to save a nickel on electricity, make sure your filter is clean then turn up the pump rpm and get some increased turnover in the pool water.

    Yikes….My psi starts out at over 15 psi after a filter cleaning.

    It's good to note the clean start-up psi of the filter.
    Time to clean when it rises 10 psi above that.
    Many systems have starting psi at 20+. Service area Barrhaven??
