The question becomes: should companies do free estimates on at least certain things? I Think a lot of homeowners would say yes, but I Think that leads to another topic of conversation. And that is when you have these larger companies that have hundreds of employees or at least dozens of employees. And some of those employees are salesmen. and they're sales people.
Salesmen, Sales women. Sales people go to homes to sell things. that's their one and only job and they make a commission off of what they sell. I Think that when companies are providing that free estimate, but they also if they sell something they have to pay.
You know, some of these people make six figures on their commissions of selling some of this stuff. Well, they're obviously building into their pricing in some way. They've got to pay that person's salary in some way.
Josh I've had salesman come to my house actually one company
The guy gave me some escalated price of $17,000 and change whereas all the other companies were around 14,000 so I'm sure I was paying I would have been paying for his salary
I prefer going to a smaller company where you can usually do better.
I mean not only on price but get the same quality by reviews and people around you that live near you and give their opinions thank you Josh
F them in the S later when you get the job. They won’t know 😂 Are you in Orleans ?
Do a good faith estimate, not a this is what is easiest for vendor proposal. Cry me a river the appliance is typically 1/3 of the contract. Gimme a break.
dont use the excuse that the reason the price is high is because of free estimates. its just called gready. the fee will be the same if its a charge. i did sales for many many years. it dont matter what it is the company will always try to make the most out of the customer.
american want everything handed to them. its sales. YOU are selling them a product. so you want me to pay a company to sell me a product.
I had a plumbing company in IL try and charge me $100 to come out and tell me the cost to replace 5 toilets in my house. Not fix, just replace after I bought the house.
I'm not paying you to tell me how much the job will be. This is an attempt to lock me in with giving you the contract. It prevents me from price comparing.
