If you've got a heating and air system with a pump that looks like this one, there should be two wires on top, and most lazy heating and air technicians never wire them in. Those two wires go to a float switch and if you ever had a pump failure, you'd have a big problem on your hands.

Very true. As an HVAC tech, not wiring it up is just dumb. It's there for a reason.
