I'm torn on how to run my lineset, the commercial tech in me just want's to run it exposed and use unistrut, what are your thoughts?

Thank you my new heat pump condenser. It's going to go approximately right here. I'm getting ready to run the line set and I'm curious for you guys thoughts: I Kind of the commercial technician in me kind of wants to run unistreat and take my line set from like right here, straight down the wall. nice and pretty bend it.
come in, come into the bottom of the unit. I Was thinking about using a line hide but they're kind of expensive and I really don't like the way they look. so do you think it's going to be really, really insane if I do Unistrut It's got to dodge some electrical over here. I'm going to be fixing a lot of this too.
Um, I mean as far as perspective from the yard, when you come over here and you look back and you're going to see it a little bit, it's not going to be horrible, but what's your guys's opinions on that? Unistrut line Hide? You think I'm just being way too crazy overthinking this. I'm sure I'm gonna get lots of that, but what do you think?.
Painted armaflex seems to last a lot longer id paint match it Service area Nepean??
Unistrut for the win. And if the wife says it's ugly, box it in with composite decking.
Iโd say send it lol
Insane in an awesome way ๐
yes crazy just put flashing lights so when itโs running looks like a nuke reactor
Inside the wall
Unistrut ftw!
Line hide
Line cover all the way the us eats the armaflex in a few years
Bro yโall donโt have critters that eat Insulation like up here in MA if you donโt put your lines in line hide you could kiss your insulation hood by these mice get fat off it
Line hide
If you know a good sheet metal shop Iโm sure they would be willing to fab up metal line hide that would look much better than most of the plastic stuff commonly available. Could potentially even make it match any gutters you have on the house but I know you are in cali so idk if yโall even have gutters๐
Uni strut hands downโฆ. Then if so desiredโฆ build a fake wall out of lattice in front of it and plant something on it
You can hide them with a gutter.
Unistrut would look sick ๐
This is a question for yoir inspection department. Everybody gonna have and opinion and most would meet national code.
Bro Uni strut 4 holes, cushion clamps, and a line cover. G2g
I look at the situation and I'm curious if the solution i would choose might be to come out vertically and then turn to run parallel to that power conduit.
Three lines running together with purpose to their intended destination.
But I also reas the suggestion to run along the roofline to the corner then come down the wall out of line of sight, which probably would look nicer. But blending the two ideas seems feasible.
Just avoid cluttering together the pipes, remember you'll want to paint in between one day, and still have serviceable pipework after.
Unistut 100%. Paint strut, prepaint armaflex to match w/latex paint. Are you in Ottawa ?
The commercial tech in me says put uninstruct up the wall and use strut straps on the lineset and put the thermostat wire in sealtite and do the same
Use hard pipe acr. Uni strut and cush clamps
I would uinstrut but cheat it as much as you can into the corner twards the yard to better hide it from view also paint is your best friend paint everything you can to match the house walls
I say just set up a poll and letโs see where everyoneโs leaning.
Uni all the way…I prefer mechanical look
Line hide. Match the color or go white and they can paint it.
why not angle the line on the to and run it next to the edge? no one will see from the front. Service area Kanata??
Speedy channel
Linehide is over priced. But it does protect the armaflex from uv. It doesn't look like you'd need much though. However if you choose to go with no linehide, I recommend titan wall armoflex. It protects very well against the elements.
Use a rain gutter with end cap
Run it up the corner, with a grey cover. Seal it with a good sealant.
Run it more to the right so it's not in the line of sight from the yard and use a linehide
Depending on how much they are willing to spend. Drill straight into the wall, take the sheet rock out on the inside and do it as it was new construction. Service area Barrhaven??
If you have a basement and that's where the AHU is, reuse the holelol
Is it california style downflow attic AHU? Is this your house? Do the unistrut, if you're anything like me you'd rather see the unistrut than the line-hide.
You don't appear to have eavestrough in that area so i feel that line hide would look even weirder Are you in Nepean ?
Uni will look boss Bossington Service area Orleans??
You could always make the first bend up near the top and then run the line down in the corner if you're worried about it looking bad. Then you can attach it with Unistrut and the only way to see it is to come over into that alcove.
Or just Unistrut it and call it good.
Does it really matter? From the video it looks like it's a catch all corner of the house. Who is really hanging out back there? Besides all the other cludder that's there.
Right corner line hide
Edit: mainly to prevent the insulation from degrading …. Yes it could look great with unistruts but would never be perfect as of where the Insulation ends at the strut/ clamps would rust due to condensation of the suction line being exposed.
I'd actually do both xD.
Suction clamped on strut , liquid secured on the suction line and a Flashing over it all.
Iโm confused why are you running a new line set ? Whatโs wrong with the old line ? Are you adding an additional unit ? Are you in Orleans ?
i use strut in resi all the time
Closer to the corner on the right. Insulation and paint !
I agree with painted unistrut plus everyone knows what you do so it better look right !!!โn
line hide
Struct, turn the unit 90 degrees and run the lines in front just like it is sitting now, makes service easy
Use line hide they come in different colors and you could also paint to match the house looks so much neater with line hide
Make your own line hide with an aluminum rain gutter downspout๐
Way too crazy lol… I like lineset covers tho
Metal channeling looks better than line hide. Are you in Barrhaven ?
I'm mostly residential, so I say line-hide because I'm so used to working with it and seeing it finished, but if I was a commercial tech, I would go with strut and clamps. F what everyone else thinks lol it's your house, do what you want! I think strut and clamps would look neat.
White Lineset cover
Strut and Cush clamps all day. Line hide is great in certain situations I feel like itโs mostly used to hide crappy looking lines
I would use line hide on a residential house..not a fan of strut on a house
Either one and obviously you like it on uni strut with cushion clamps and thatโs what matters most
I like unistrut Are you in Kanata ?
Hey I like the way mechanical things look when they're done nicely. Plus It looks hidden enough..
Machinist weighing in here…
Hook a 90deg right at the soffit, follow along to the inside corner before turning down. Hides the vertical drop into the internal corner and won't be seen from the yard at all.
You could just face off that whole cavity with a false wall. A little more work, but I hate how afterthought lines look.
Do the unistrut. I would do it. It'll look awesome ๐
just an old set of jumper cables and a peice of rebar for a ground ๐
