Have you heard these facts about saltwater pools? Well, here are three myths about saltwater pools that just totally aren't true. Saltwater pools don't have chlorine actually. Saltwater generators also known as chlorine generators use the salt that you add to the water to make chlorine, so you'll still have chlorine in the water. but you'll be buying and adding salt to make that chlorine.

Saltwater pools feel like the ocean. They're actually not that salty. It's a little less salty than human Tears, which have salt levels of about 9,000 parts per million. That's compared to the ocean with saltwater levels of 35,000 parts per million.

Saltwater pools save you money. Uh, this one's debatable. While you won't have to buy and add chlorine anymore, and pool salt is relatively inexpensive, you do need to maintain and repair the saltwater generator. Plus that extra equipment needs electricity to run.
