You know, I was about to grab my bag and just one hand it up the roof. That was my first instinct because that's ingrained in my brain. That's how we used to do things years ago. But modern bags? This one's a backpack.
Put on the backpack straps right. And to walk up the ladder like save your back? save your safety. You're violating Oer regulations one- handing the ladder anyways, but still. like we all know, it can be done.
But should it be done? No. Should you be pushing your body to those extremes? No, don't hurt yourself. Your job is not worth your safety. You know you want to be able to go home at the end of the day.
Put your backpack straps on now I can safely go up I got my backpack on. Um, and you know I'm not going to potentially fall off the roof and I have done that before and I did not get seriously injured. but it it changed me. Okay, so rope your stuff or use a backpack.
Be safe.
Manitowoc Ice Machines rated 1995 UL with 30 LBs or less of schedule 1 rated refrigerants… Chicago Municipal code states pressure relief valves are not required if those specs are made.. the inspector is trying to make us install them even though the code states differently, what do you think?
Yeah, don't bother saving seconds now at the cost of years later on in your career and life. Service area Ottawa??
The moment I fell of the ladder is when I acknowledged that… 😊😊. Thanks Chris
Yes , You have to take care of yourself. There is only a small amount of people that really care about you. I learned that myself.
Or I'm building muscles and skills. It's good to push yourself and BE A MAN
Got the Helen Keller airpod clips in I see.
I use a rope, work gloves and knee pads, body dont hurt at the end of the day.
your safety is much important to your job.
I'm work safe because I want to WORK for the rest of my life. I don't want to be out of work because of injury.
Dude not too long ago my apprentice watched me carry something up a vertical ladder like that. Phone rang and I answered my phone with my other hand while using my chin to hold myself on the ladder about halfway up. After that I vowed to teach him better safety and not do that crap anymore. I can’t lie though I always carry stuff up on a regular extension ladder. Service area Orleans??
It's hard to change your ways.. but better you do it yourself then let trauma do it for you.
Or just use the strap it comes with…
Well said.
That chain link fence roof reminds me of the story you told of falling off a ladder!! Was this where that happened?
That works most of the time until the hatch is too small. Some times roping it up is another good option
Recently transitioned from the tech pac to a TP-XXL which I now use 95% of the time. Amazing how much of a game changer it is to carry so much less up a ladder.
I and my tinnitus agree – no needless risks!
No hernias today boys!
I have a man purse when I was out in the field. Now at one location I don't carry the purse as much but still have it for when on a roof
Backpacks get louded down and end up weighing 100lbs. That's not how to save your back
This resonates with me as I just finished doing this with a bunch of equipment after chucking the compressor off the roof Are you in Kanata ?
OSHA 🤔 wrong gloves and eyewear on head😂😂😂
Took a ladder fall a couple weeks ago. Off of a 6’ ladder. Head went through the drywall. Oddly enough, I feel safer on an extension ladder, a ship ladder, even a 10’ step ladder than I do on a 6’. Not sure why.
I need to be better, I'm bad about the one handed ladder. Thanks Chris!
Thanks, Chris! My Bro works in Insurance. Ladders are huge risks. Injuries can be career-ending, nevermind your *life*.
OSHA has entered the chat 🤣🤣 Service area Barrhaven??
This is why i own a rope for roofs that don't have stairs. Are you in Nepean ?
