Bausch heat pumps, not dishwashers, not refrigerators, all these other appliances - heat pumps, HVAC equipment. Let's talk about that right now: hey guys, Joshua Griffin here serving the middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck of Virginia, and I wanted to do a quick video on Bosch. Hvac heat pumps and you know just kind of talk about them. What you need to know as a consumer or homeowner and consider before making your next purchase, we started working with Bosch a couple years ago.
I put one in my house, and I just want to run through a couple things that Bosch does that at this point, during the making of this video, I believe they're, the only company, that's doing some of the things that they're doing so, I'm going to focus On pretty much, there are three main products right now during the making this video. Now you know, maybe this may change. You might be watching this video in the future and you know maybe they've added a few products or change their lineup, but basically there are three main products right now: they're 18 seer inverted split heat pump system, inverter. Sorry - and I got a little brochure that kind of talks about that, and that's gon na I'm kind of use that to keep me on topic, there's kind of a picture of them, and now they have what now they call this their 18 seer is what they Started with they call this the 1.0 line.
Now and now they have their 2.0 line and the main difference between those are. The 1.0 line has a constant torque air handler or blower motor, and the new 2.0 line has a variable speed, but other than that they are identical in their operation and so essentially what bosch has done? Is you know, and then this may change in the future? But there's you know, there's there's a lot of brands out there and they kind of make all kinds of different products to kind of capture, different markets or different consumers and buy said you know what we're gon na start out with one or two products and we're Gon na make them really well and and and hang our hat on that - and I actually like that because they do what they do really well, and you know again, I'm gon na go through a couple things, but I've met with other brands. If you will companies that want us to sell their equipment, and one of my favorite things to ask when I'm meeting a new company is what do you offer that no one else offers and to me that should be pretty easy to answer most of the products That I sell, I can answer that question. If somebody asked me, you know what is this brand offer that no one else offers I can answer that I can answer that with Bosch and we're gon na go through that right now and so again, it's three main products: they're 1.0 they're 2.0, and then now They just came out with recently within the last year, a package unit that is 19 seer.
It's inverter driven it's it's cutting-edge, honestly because I don't know any other brand or any of the main brands that are making a 19 seer package heat pump system, most of them you're. Looking at you know, 16, maybe 17, not 19. So that's it's pretty unheard of! Actually, at this point in time now you know again, you might be watching this years in the future and they'll say well shoot. That's the minimum now and you know that's no big deal, but during the making this video cutting edge. No one else doing that for the price point that these guys are doing it out so again, so let me get back to what I was saying so Bosch. What what are they? What have they decided to do? Well that no one else is doing well. The first thing they're doing is they're offering these high seer systems, the eighteen with the 1.0 then 20, with the 2.0 lines and they're able to do it, and I'm going to go through how in just a second but they're able to do it at much lower Prices than some of the other bigger brands, so you know if you were to buy a 20 seer system from one of the bigger brands. You know you're.
Looking at an indoor unit, you know we're talking about a split system, so some sort of indoor unit, whether it be an air handler or furnace you're gon na have an outdoor heat pump or air conditioner. And you know once you start adding in that. It's communicating the thermostats and a lot of cases because they're communicating they're exclusive to that line. You can't just in a lot of cases.
You can't just go to a big box store and buy a thermostat for your system anymore. It's you know, it's all communicating it uses DC pulses to talk to one another and and and that's all great in itself. It really is it's. It's a really cool technology.
The system can decide because they can talk to one another. The system can decide what it needs to do as far as the speed it needs to run at, and things like that, based on you know, indoor temperature discharge, temperature outdoor temperature, all those things, and it can. It can do all that because it can talk to one another. Literally, I mean it's.
It's not talk. It's it's not like your normal 24 volt AC system, where it's just literally the thermostat. It's just switches that close inside the thermostat, so bosch has said we're not going to do all that they have an inverter compressor that can ramp up and down just like any other system. Speed up, slow down lots of in-between save energy, all that good stuff.
But what it does, and and and at this point time I'm being told I did - none of this literature actually addresses it, but I'm being told that it's made by one of the big manufacturers that are famous for inverter technology. Now, I'm not gon na say who that is, because that may change Bosch might decide to make their own compressors in the future. They may decide to get someone else to make them who knows, but at this point Tom they have this big kahuna of a brand that makes inverter driven systems and they've taken that compressor and they put it in this trashcan style looking unit, I call them trashcan Style, it's not it's not a side discharge unit, like your see used to seeing with some of the the ductless systems and here's kind of a shot of it kind of cut open there, and hopefully that's not out of focus but anyway. So you know so that what they do is they've taken this inverter driven compressor and it monitors the suction pressure coming back from the indoor unit, the indoor coil, okay. Now, why does that matter instead of it talking to one another and doing all this fancy stuff? Excuse me Bosh's, said this unit will ramp up and down based on the load based on what it's got coming back from that suction line. If it sees a you know a warmer coil and AC mode, it's going to ramp up a little bit. You know give you the capacity that you need it's going to ramp down if it's seeing a nice cool coil to barely running at times and draw very little energy. So I think that's you know really cool.
It's! It's um! You know, there's there's a few things that you can do to the system to I'm not gon na get in all that, but to make it a dehumidifier a little better than some of the other or then then, if you weren't to do those things, I guess, But um it's you know it's it's it's just kind of cool with what they've been able to do, and you know so they they said they've said that you know we're not gon na make hundreds of different products we're gon na make a couple and we're gon Na get really Walt making those products and they're just as quiet, they're super quiet, I mean as low as fifty six decibels running. You know they're super efficient and you can still put your own thermal like the I've actually heard them say they don't want you using the I'm not going to say the name home. I said it the but a certain brand of thermostats, but you know you can use a regular thermostat that you got from one of the big box stores and you know so. I just think that that's something to note now they're there again their big difference between their 1.0 and their 2.0 line is you.
You know you go up to the 2.0 you're gon na get 20 seer. It's a variable, speed, air handler and still super quiet, really cool technology, same technology and um and they're great. You know so we're offering them with a three year. Labor warranty and it comes with a 10-year part warranty, and you get an extra one year on that.
If it's installed by a Bosch, Perot contractor which Griffin air is - and you know we've put in several of these - I have had very few issues with them. That's the other thing I put these things in, we don't hear back and you know so they're just they're. Just really good at what they do. The only other thing that I'll mention when that is you know they don't make all these different sizes right now, they're pretty much in the residential line, making a 3 ton and a 5 ton, and then what they're able to do is just by changing some of The settings you can make that three all the way down to a ton and a half or that five all the way down to a three and a half. So anyway, if you have any questions, we'd love to earn your business, give us a call eight! Oh four: five: oh five, zero! Two, four! Seven! Thank you!.
are you guys still happy with the brash units
MADE IN CHINA!
The Bosch PACKAGED units are made in China. Called Bosch to verify and they confirmed.
Was ready to purchase until I found this out. Now the search for an equivalent unit made in USA goes on….
Just signed my purchase agreement for
Inverter Ducted Packaged Heat Pump, 19 SEER Series (5 Ton Capacity) my AC guy called bosch and asked if my 3rd Gen Nest will work with it they said yes
So you're saying Mitsubishi makes Bosch compressors haha
Be real with me. I live in a hot climate (alabama) and i'm an hvac contractor. Grandma wants one of these units but I've seen a few vids where some guys had issues with water backing up, and tons of humidity issues. The load calc on the house is right at 36K in cooling, should i get the 3-5 ton unit instead of the 1-3? I don't want to put something in her house that will give her woes later on. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't even be in this trade
Do these units use communicating thermostats?
Should I get the 3 ton or 5 ton for my 2260sqft house? I'm in Seattle. Also, is it confirmed that the 2.0 5 ton uses chinese compressor? Thanks
Had a friend get one In stalled 2100 sq ft. house 14000.00 is that high, sounds to the moon Are you in Barrhaven ?
I got 7 year labor warranty with a 12 year factory on my bova48hnd1-m181m model.
Can you guys beat that. I think not!!!..
Thanks for this video. I've also watched your videos on Daikin heat pump/air handler systems. We are trying to decide between the Bosch 20 Seer V.2 4 ton System and the Daikin 4 ton VRV system. What would you recommend?
We are in the process of getting a AC or heat-pump put in. One of the issues with our house is different temperatures seen at different parts of the house. Will the Bosch heat pump with the variable speed controls address that issue? Or do I need dampers control to zone the house?
I can buy these Bosch heat pump systems online now but it looks like they only manufacture the heat pump version. I was hoping for a straight cool version.
Hi! Great info! What do you think about a Bosch 60,0000 BTU inverter heat pump system with 20 KW emergency heat, in the main half of
house and a Bosch24,000 BTU inverter heat pump system, with 10 KW electric emergency heat in a smaller side of a home. The middle area is a great room with very high ceilings and I have heard Bosch is a great system! I am just worried about not using gas or having a gas back up? Thoughts? Service area Kanata??
Trying to decide between the 1.0 and 2.0 – is the difference in VS blower vs not a major difference? Either in comfort or otherwise? one better for humidity control over another ?
Good job. Considering adding Bosch to our lineup. Service area Orleans??
My Bosch inverter works well but get noisy at times (vibration, pumping noise). Is this the defrost cycle and is there a way to quiet it?
The worst ac we have ever had!! The humidity in our home is 85 percent..it is ridiculous
Thanks for the video how is your system doing we just bought a house with a Rheem system 10 years old and the ac doesn’t work our tech suggested the Ids 2.0 system for a pretty good deal we got another quote for a American Standard entry level for 800 dollars more expensive
I was about to get a Bosch LV WSHP heat pump, but it's currently backordered 3-4 weeks according to my vendor. They suggest a Daikin WSHP instead. Is the Bosch worth waiting for? Thanks for the advice!
We want one but gonna wait for the price to come down a bit.
2.0 Uses Midea Compressors
We just installed a Bosch IDS 2.0 heat pump in our home yesterday. Unbelievably quiet (49.5db). It is replacing a 19 year old 9 SEER Goodman unit. Hope to see some good savings in energy consumption this summer in AZ. Are you in Ottawa ?
1.0 using Mitsubishi compressors. 2.0 is going to no name Chinese so look for quality to drop. 1.0 3 ton system going in day after tomorrow.
I put one in my house 2 years ago and love it it is my top seller
Can you use Nest Thermostat with the Bosch ductless heat pumps? I also have forced air oil furnace. Can we put that system as an emergency backup with the Nest?
Which WiFi thermostat works well with the Bosch inverter heat pump with a gas furnace?
How well does it really handle cold weather?
I'm really tempted to get the bosch heat pump. Just worried about reliability down the road and prices for parts and availability. I have dual fuel propane. What furnaces are you matching them with. Nice video thanks
Just FYI, I'm a TSA for Mitsubishi, Bosch and many other manufacturers. Never use thermostats from big box stores! There junk!
I have a bosch inverter heat pump 5 ton outdoor unit with 4 ton indoor coil. It is paired with a 2 stage york propane furnace. I live in West Virginia on top of a mountain which means we get our share of very cold temps with alot of snow during the winter. My question is…what outdoor temperature should the heat pump shut down and the propane furnace take over. It is currently set at 20 degrees F. It has already been down to 22 degrees and keeps the house warm without running constantly. Im wondering at what point does it become less economical to run the heat pump instead of the propane furnace. Any thoughts?
Does The 2.o also use the Mitsubishi Compressor? Ty for the video. I have been researching and it seems Bosch HVAC has a reasonable price point Service area Nepean??
