Hey guys, do you have a really old heat pump or air conditioner, and you want to bring it back to life and get as much life out of it as you can we're going to talk about that in this video, but before we get to that, please Hit that subscribe button, thank you. Hey guys, welcome back to the channel and in this video we're going to talk about a product that, if you have a really old air, conditioner or heat pump, that is still working. It's clunking along kind of maybe it doesn't sound as quiet as it used to, and maybe it's not as efficient as it used to be, but you want to get as much life out of it as you can, and my question to you would be what, if There was a product that you could bring it back to life, that you could make it quieter and make it more efficient and just get as much life out of as you can, and my answer to that is. There are several products on the market that do that, but this is one of the coolest ones.
I've ever seen and we'll get into why in just a moment, but the product we're talking about is called boost, juice, it comes in a bag. Now it used to kind of come in a plastic looking case, but now it comes in a bag and this product is meant. If you have an old air conditioning system or old heat pump. Something like that - and you can add this product to the system and it will make it quieter.
It will make it draw less amperage, making it more efficient less on your electric bill. I would not add this to a system, that's under warranty. This is only something that i would use if a system is kind of on its last leg, i'm just trying to get a little more life out of it. A lot of manufacturers will not honor their warranties if they find out you've been adding different things to the system, and this product is probably no exception.
Now, i'm going to go through all the things that it does in just a second and why? I think it's probably superior to a lot of other products on the market, but i just want to say real, quick as a quick disclaimer, and that is, i am not being paid by diversitech or any other company to do this video. I thought that this product was a cool enough product to share on my channel during the making of this video diversitech is not paying me anything to do this video i wish they were, but they're not. I've had customers reach out to us on our website on new hvac guide and they'll. Ask different questions about their older system and, ultimately, this product might allow you to get a little more life out of it, making it more efficient and so on.
So, first the product itself comes in two forms: it comes in this, what they call the flex shot, and this product is good up to 12 tons and it also comes in a can form that comes with a little hose adapter that you can get. But right now we've got the one in the bag, we've got the flex shot and that's what we're going to talk about. I will say this: i've installed other products, comparable type products like this additives to systems before, and this has got to be - and i again they're not paying me to say this. This has got to be one of the easiest, if not the easiest product. I've ever seen to be able to add to a system uh. I know i'll probably get some guff for this, but i'll say this. I think a homeowner could easily install this themselves. You know there's no tools required unless you need a tool to take the little caps off the service ports.
I will say a little disclaimer. You should probably get a pro to do this because they know what they're doing, but my point is uh. Unlike a lot of other products out there that you know you should definitely get a pro, i mean i've heard of homeowners, replacing their own capacitors, not understanding the dangers of a capacitor that could hold charge for that matter. This product is no different.
It's easy to install, but should you get a pro, i think you should. As i said a minute ago, it reduces energy consumption. It lowers your amp draw up to 22 of an air conditioner or heat pump system. Why? Because the lubrication that it does when it gets up in that system, it's making the system not have to work so hard.
You know just like a car if you're changing your oil as often as you should oil breaks down all that good stuff, heating and air systems are no different, so this is sort of like that you're adding a little more lubrication to that system, allowing it to Work better and not use so much energy, it does improve performance. A lot of customers that have had this installed said that they notice the difference within 24 to 72 hours that their system is working better. It will also reduce noise if you got an old system and that compressor just sounds like an old diesel motor it's getting louder and louder as the years go on. This will quiet that down again it's getting in there and lubricating everything one of the things i've seen a lot of products on the market get used for including this one, and that is it's good for metering devices.
So you know i've seen txv's be in a very hard location. Maybe the unit is way up in the air just for some reason. It's not easy to get to that indoor txv and i've seen where additives like this. Some products like this could actually end up.
Freeing up that txv allowing that system to work again boost juice is fully compatible with all refrigerants and oils and again there's no tools required unless you need a tool to get the caps off or something like that, but to actually put the product in you do Not need any special tools, which again is unlike some products on the market uh. I i could think of one particular product that you've got to get this special, syringe, looking tool and you know to get that in there, whereas this you just connect it to the system and go you just follow the instructions, that's on the back and so again, There's a lot of products on the market similar to this, but i think there are a few things about this one that makes it a little better, a little different and we're going to get in that in just a second. But before we do, i just thought that i would open this up and just kind of show you what the product looks like so again. This is the bag that they switch to, and it's just as simple as opening up anything else. So it's got the little tab here at the top and we will pull that loose and then it's just like a freezer bag that you would open here now. There is a big joke that if you do happen to get this product, tell me what what you think it smells like. Uh, there's a big joke in our industry of what we think it smells like and i'm not gon na say what it smells like in this video. But if you get a chance to lay hands on one smell the bag and tell me what you think it smells like, but uh anyway, so there's the bag, you open it up and then the product is simply this flex shot that i was telling you about.
Where you connect it to each side of your service ports, and then you push this little red cap to make it go in again. The instructions are on the back, but that's it. The product is inside that hose right there and it will make your system better. Uh so, lastly, just to wrap up, i hinted at it before and again there are other products on the market that do the lubrication and helping metering devices and all that stuff.
But i think the thing that sets this product apart from those companies is three things. Uh, the first is there's a product in there that you know it helps protect it against corrosion, it prevents acid formation and then lastly, the coolest thing that again, not all the products have that this one does is it's got something in there that eliminates moisture in A system and if you know anything about air conditioning, if you know anything about what we do and when you're installing the systems and we raise properly and we pull vacuum and all that stuff moisture, is a big enemy of the system being able to operate properly. And so this has something in it to eliminate that moisture all that said, i think it's pretty cool, whoever invented this definitely had their thinking. Cap on they were thinking about us and some of the problems we were having with some of the other products out there being able to get it installed and being able to actually use the product itself.
I remember years ago there was an additive type product that you would connect and then you were like did it happen like did it go in uh, whereas this you don't have that issue so anyway, if you do check this product out, if you get your heating And air company or your technician, to put some of this in your system. Let me know what you think. All that said, thanks for watching hit that subscribe button, we'll see you next time.
