Circuit tracers can be great tools but be sure to verify because they can give you false readings sometime too.

Getting ready to change an exhaust fan and we can't find the circuit breaker. It's 115. so I just used some Wago connectors right there to the live wires. Got to be careful.
Hooked up a receptacle and a circuit tracer plug and then now we're gonna just go downstairs and try to find this guy. Absolutely nothing in these panels is labeled correctly, so you know this is, uh, gonna be a challenge to make sure that we actually find it foreign. We got a false alarm on the other panel so we're going to check this panel right now. I have someone on the roof too.
I'm gonna try this one. We lose power. No power. All right.
That one's it. Okay.
Could you do an in-depth video about circuit tracing.
I'm curious if I could apply it in the reefer field if needed in the future.
Nice ๐๐พ
Love that tool. When I was doing service by myself. I would leave the company phone inside the electrical unit. Call it with my personal cell . with a beeping stick id open each breaker till i found my breaker.. fun times in grocreystores at 3am lol๐
I could have done this with a beater screw drive hahahhahahah
The work done by these guys is incredible
What is the range with that piece of tool ?
Good idea!
Just ground out the hot wire and it should trip the breaker. You donโt have to go through all of this nonsense.
Classic. Lots of idiots working the trades. Electrical, plumbing, hvac, etc. Too many dipsh*ts imo
Funny thing these cats will leave it unlabeled lol
Learn how to use it ๐๐๐ You are using incorrectly, hence getting false readings!
And here I am wrapping black tape around the hot wire and removing the fan
Must be a retirement home
Those tools are brilliant, save time and increase safety. Tip (I assume you simply edited it out for brevity) instructions say to run the whole panel with the wand once then look for the exact breaker.
LOTO! Lol Iโm jk no one is gonna go near that shit show of a panel
Great idea troubleshooting methods ๐ฎ Are you in Orleans ?
Stupid video Are you in Ottawa ?
No new story here all restaurant panels are garbage.
You have to scan the entire panel first then go back On the second pass the sensor is supposed to locate the circuit once itโs learned
Yeah just short the wires and the breaker will turn itself off. Are you in Nepean ?
How do you get a false alarm on a device like that?๐
Line voltage wires are not shielded like cat 5 or 6. I used a phone toner and all the wires had a signal on them.
I need that breaker detection method
So tired of trying to shut an hvac down and these 40 year old panels not having anything labeled ๐๐๐ Service area Orleans??
wago connectors are shit…
And I bet you didnโt label that breaker either Service area Barrhaven??
Make sure you don't label it ๐
Youโre not using that tool correctly my man
Welcome to where I work. No time to do things right.
what a neat tool
Use the attachment alligator clamps that you can purchase for 20 bucks
Trust but verify. Trust your equipment but verify with your coworker ๐
Did you lock it out
How well does your circuit tracer work on 277. These mechanics are strickly beginners
I be turning off everything
Somebody said "mark the damn thing"
NO HAVE THESE COMPANY'S THAT MAKE PANELS & SCHEMATICS WRITE THEM IN METAL LIKE HOW THEY DO COINS & TOMBSTONES THEN WELL BE ABLE TO READ THEM FOR 100+ YEARS ESPECIALLY IF WE MAINTENANCE THEM INSTEAD OF THESE PAPERS SCHEMATICS THAT BE GOING BAD IN LIKE 5 YEARSโผ๏ธ๐ฃ๐ฃ
THE MARKER IS GONNA GO BAD TOO
The quickest and easiest way to find the right breaker is to cross the live wires.
Be a man work it Hot ๐ ๐ Service area Kanata??
Genius.
Where is the lockout ?
I guess I am a terrible person because when I have that issue I just dead short it. POP goes the weasel. ๐ Are you in Kanata ?
did you label it?
Label it. At least a code
take a good insulated tool and short it out
typical illiterate electrical workers that don't know how to write a legible label
I have loud little radio. Plug itin and crank up the tunes. When I find the right bteaker the music stops. Or the light goes out.
"NOW" is the time to LABEL it… No not "LATER", right EFFIN' N O W โผ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธโผ๏ธ
I would just trip the braker
Ask me how ๐๐
Well let's call the light company to turn of the whole block to do the job .๐ Service area Ottawa??
Short circuot them
