Okay, so this video is on cleaning large coils and commercial applications in order to clean a large coil. Often you would just pull the hose up while the host does not give you great flow. We use hoses often for these jobs, but you know that sometimes coils can be thick, sometimes even potentially double rows, and so a good way makes a great tool called the coil Pro that helps. You get nice full flow with good pressure, but not nearly as much pressure as a pressure.
Washer is gon na give you they could potentially damage the fins of a coil. So it's a tool you can feel good about putting on your truck or putting the trucks of one of your technicians, knowing that it's gon na do the job, but it's not going to damage the coil. Have a look so the goal of a cleaning like this is to be able to push through the coil. Do a really good job of getting the soil out of it, without damaging the coil and on a micro channel, because refrigerant flows right on the edges.
That can be a tricky thing to do, and you definitely don't want to use a pressure washer. You want always something get as high flow. That gets it clean that isn't gon na damage it so in a microchannel. Coil refrigerant is flowing right on the edge right between these flat pieces of coil, there's actually refrigerant in here, and then you have the accordion fins that go in between them.
It's just like a car radiator and if any of these get nicked or damaged or corroded, you got a big oil spot and an ugly situation all right. So we're gon na be working with the High Flow coil cleaner from a good way, and we've got a microchannel coil that we definitely cannot hit with too much pressure. We're gon na use a very, very mild cleaner on this, but needs to be cleaned, and this is a grocery-store application, so we're gon na demonstrate this here. This is our adjustment for the pressure output, and then this is our pick up for the so you notice that we are using a cleaner with the pickup tube and we're doing it with a microchannel coil.
Now I know those of you out. There have read certain manufacturers say that you're not supposed to use coil cleaner on micro Channel and then some will say use it, but only in extreme cases we're doing it here because we're demonstrating it. You can rest assured: we've rinsed, it really really good, and it's not a harsh chemical that we're using so again. This is for demonstration purposes generally on micro, Channel you're just going to use water and in fact, coil pro is a great tool for that, because, with the 90-degree tip and with the good flow of water, you can get a good clean, even without using a cleaner.
In fact, Trane even recommends the use of the 90 degree tip in their literature, specifically from good way to be used along with this tool, demonstrating the use of coil cleaner here, but only ever use coil cleaner when it's needed, and especially on micro Channel, be very Very careful quickly, you're gon na notice, the stepstool that we're using here and a lot of people have said that you're not supposed to stand on top of the ladder. Actually, that is incorrect. In this case. This is an OSHA rated step, stool, it's 24 inches and it is allowable to stand on top. That's actually its intended purpose just for anybody who's concerned about our safety, alright, so that is it for this coil. This good way, coil pro, is really great at this job. Nice and balanced, not too heavy perfect for this micro channel condensers got the hail guard back on it and she is looking nice and clean so good way. Coil Pro, you can find out more by going to good wacom, great tool for cleaning large coils and commercial applications, thanks for watching.
What is sad is that you have to stop with all the disclaimers for the know it all douch bags out there nowadays. 51 years old now 30+ years in HVAC and I tell you back then if you were a smart ass know it all you were dealt with pretty quick !! Service area Ottawa??
That seems very efficient and effective. Thanks.
Hi Bryan! Thanks for this video.I request you to please provide a videos of Heat loads, coil design, design of various HVAC equipments on the basis of ASHRAE/ISHRAE BOOKS.
THANKS IN ADVANCE.
At first sithg it seems a perfect wand & perfect type & amount of liquid flow. I really like it 👍
We just picked up a couple of these at work. Great machines. Using it to clean 6-10” thick chilled water coils in air handlers from the 1950’s. It takes some time but they eventually push dirt all the way through the coil
How much is the machine
No price Service area Barrhaven??
Forget the step stool. Put a hat on and protect that shiny dome from the ☀️ Are you in Nepean ?
Great video. Thank you for sharing ^_^
Another great vídeo sr you need low presión to no damages the coils
By percentage does anyone know how much more efficient or how much more capacity cleaning these coils help the system?
I clicked the links. Nothing lead me to buy the machine. Need it granger or Johnston's. Where company account is.
Why you don't use regular cleaner?
Not only was that satisfying to watch. But also very informative and relaxed some of my concerns on washing microchannel coil’s. I will definitely be investing in one of those for all my commercial jobs next summer. Huge supporter of all your videos ,keep up the great work man.
