Hey guys, Josh mcgriffin err serving the middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck gon na do a video on something we've gotten questions on before, and that is when you're comparing systems comparing efficiencies and that all-mighty word seer seasonal energy efficiency ratio. How much savings if you were to go with a higher seer system? Will you get and we're going to talk about that right now? Stay tuned, hey guys, Josh mcgriffin err! I wanted to do this video because we have something really cool, that we've come across, that you know for the longest time when we have been talking about systems and a higher seer, more efficient system, how efficient isn't exactly and for a while there and still really It's it's hard to equate an actual a dollar amount of savings compared to seer, meaning you know, they're. The reason is there's so many variables. You know the efficiency of the system, how well it was installed where you are in the country.
What temperature you keep your home at how much mileage the systems is what kind of system it is all kinds of variables that go along with that. So just saying that one system is to seer higher than another. How much does that actual? You know equate to how much savings you're gon na get in a year and there's charts out there there's different things that can help. You understand how much savings you're actually going to get, but I found this really cool tool that I'm gon na show you right now it's something that you can even check out as a homeowner and I'm going to show that to you right now.
Okay, so I got my computer up here and I'm sure there's a way better way to shoot this, but I'm not looking to be all fancy here and do a bunch of video editing. But this is with a website. It's actually a daikons energy calculator Dyken and if you're not familiar with Dyken, I did a whole video on them. It's one of the products we sell, they're the largest corporation in the country and the world at this point in time they earned Goodman and mana brands and um.
You know they come with a 12 year. Warranty they're, you know pretty good, we've put a bunch of them in I mean I could go on and on, but this is on their website. Dyken and the URL or the web address is daikin Comfort, comm backslash energy calculator. Hopefully, you can kind of see what I'm doing here.
I'm gon na kind of walk through how this energy calculator works and again it might not be like a hundred percent accurate. But it's gon na be able to give you a general idea of how much savings you're gon na be able to get so like you can already see. There's a there's a chart right there. Okay - and you know it has - you know your base installation ten seer years ago now it's unbelief 14 for a heat pump system and it goes all the way up to 18, of course, their systems.
Now that go well above that, and probably, if you're watching this video in the future, who knows what that number is, but at the at this time they go well above 20 and and they can be pretty efficient. So anyway, let me walk through how this works. It's pretty cool, and hopefully this can help you out and making a decision. This video is not meant to sell you a higher seer system by the way I just want you to when you're looking at it. If you're look trying to make a decision based on okay, well, if this system is more, you know efficient, it's a higher seer than that system. How much savings will I actually get so, let's, let's walk through this okay, and you can kind of see here. It says start your assessment now and you're gon na enter your zip code, so I'm just going to enter two three one. Seventy-Five that's Urbana, that's one of our local zip codes and it's gon na kind of start.
You through this process and it's gon na, ask you questions. That's gon na ask you how big your home is. Let's say you have a 1500 square foot home, so we're gon na click that we're gon na say our home was built in the mid nineties. Utility calls yeah, I'm not gon na mess with any of that.
Maybe you keep your house at. You know 72 degrees. In the spring I mean the summer and winter 72. Next, do you have ask you some other questions? Do you have any pets? Are you a you know, do you have a lot of technology to sort of stuff or your frequent traveler things like that, can all affect how much you use your system? How fish at your system runs things like that, so, let's just just to play with this.
Let's say we have some children and we we're tech-savvy or we don't have any pets. We don't work from home, we're not going to click any of that. So we're just going to click those, and here we go so it kind of just comes up here with a an idea of how much savings you would get going with one of their systems versus another. So here's what your cost yearly cost would be for the single stage system, two stage system and then the inverter system, and so you could save up to looks like six, I'm a six hundred dollars a year.
So hopefully that helps. I you know. I don't think that it's gon na be the end-all. I don't think that it's something that you need to you know base 100 %.
This is exactly how much I'm gon na save all that good stuff. But let me get you turn back around here so again. Hopefully that helps if you have any questions, you're looking at a new system and you're, considering you know your options. Typically, we give multiple options and our proposals we're gon na give you the you know for Taurus and the Cadillac and everything in between, and hopefully this kind of helps a little.
But hopefully it kind of you know shows you um. You know what you can save versus. You know one system versus another. So again, if you have any questions want some more information visit.
