Don’t buy HVAC online! Here’s why. Buying air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps online is a bad idea. Retail purchases should be made through a
Griffin Air LLC is a hvac and plumbing Contractor located in Hartfield, Virginia servicing surrounding areas like Kilmarnock, Gloucester and West Point.

Hey guys, Josh with Griffin, air and Hartfield Virginia serving the middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck. I wanted to do a video on buying HVAC equipment, one line and why it's not necessarily the best idea. I'm going to give you concrete reasons why it's not a good idea to buy your heating and air equipment online, even if you have a qualified professional willing to put it in more times than not. If you know someone that is willing to install equipment that they didn't provide themselves, there might not be the best guy for the job anyway.

Hvac purchases and a lot of cases are the third biggest investment you will make behind buying your next home or car. And it's also the biggest energy consumer in your home. First start with this question: if you can buy heating and air equipment online cheaper than what I as a qualified licensed contractor can buy it for ask yourself this: why am I not buying my equipment online? That should be a sign right there, so if I could buy equipment from a website on the internet versus buying it from my suppliers, but I'm still not doing it, that should be a red flag. Next, I'm not gon na go into all the horror stories that I've heard.

I've heard actually one recently a gentleman bought a system online and is having a horrible horrible time getting parts for it and getting support for it. But I'm not gon na go into all the details or some of the other horror stories, but mainly - and this is usually the main reason I try to discourage people from buying. You know a heat pump or furnace online and it's this if something is wrong, whether it be right from the shipping as soon as you get it or a year or two later, who are you gon na go yell at because more times than not you have You don't even know who you got it from. You might know the website, but I can tell you this if I order a heat pump or furnace and it comes in and something is wrong with it or even a year or two later, something is wrong with it.

I know who to call, I know who to go yell at. I know who to to say: hey something's wrong here we need this fixed. I have a customer. I need to make happy and a lot of times if you buy your equipment online from some website.

You do not have that luxury. I'm telling you the little bit of money that you might save from buying your system online. It is not worth it, it can do other things like mess with the warranties. Some manufacturers will not honor warranties if they cannot prove that it was installed by licensed and insured contractor.

Now you may say: well, I did have it installed by licensed and insured contractor, but if less that's provable in some cases, it's not. If you bought that system online and then let's say that company were to go out of business or they can't prove or what. If, god forbid, what, if that company's just not willing to help you out, because you didn't buy the system from them, whatever the case is a lot of cases, the manufacturers do not have to honor their warranties if it was not, but from a contractor, because it's Not easily proven that you had it installed by a licensed and insured contractor, it's almost a loophole for them to not honor their warranties and who can blame them in some cases. You don't know where that system came from.
You don't know of what was done to it. I can tell you that when I buy from my suppliers, I've been to the factories I've been to the warehouses, I see where the equipment goes, and I see that its manufacturer and its brand out-of-the-box when I get it now. That still may be the case. If you buy it online, but how do you really know to piggyback off the warranties we at Griffin air have some of the best warranties in the area.

I have some systems that we provide that come with a 12-year parts and labor warranty. That means if you're 11 rolls around compressor goes bad. You are covered and you cannot get that from any website back. I can assure you, if you have any questions.

Have any concerns give us a call at eight? Oh four: five! Oh five, zero! Two! Four! Seven! Thank you.
