There are hundreds and maybe thousands of HVAC brands making ductless minisplits now. A lot of them are the same manufacturers making several brands or licensing the name.
This video is meant to help you compare the units and figure out who is good without having to dissect the specifications, parts, and performance of each of the HVAC units. That's right! Some HVAC brands suck!

Hey guys before we get to the video for more tips and tricks in the heating and air industry, please click that subscribe button. Thank you: hey guys, joshua griffin, air serving the middle peninsula and the northern neck of virginia and wanted to do a video on ductless systems, because i tell you more than more than any of the conventional brands out there. I've done videos on how there's so many brands, but there's only a few manufacturers, and we see that a lot and it's not just in the heating and air industry. You see that in other industries, too sort of like gm makes all these other brands like chevrolet cadillac hummer.

However, with all that said, with ductless systems, it seems like there are millions of brands. There's brands that i've never even heard of like they're just popping up out of nowhere and you can google ductless brands and it's just amazing how many different brands there are out there, and i don't know how many manufacturers there are. But what i wanted to do. A video on is one thing: we've learned is not all ductless systems are created equal and why is that important for you to know? Well, the reason i even decided to do this video is we're a daikin comfort.

Pro daikin is the largest manufacturer of heating and air equipment residential in the world and now the usa, and they make really good products. They have cutting edge technology performs well, we give them a great warranty, 12-year parts and labor warranty and they're just awesome right and with that said where we are located, we just happen to be located just down the road from several campgrounds. If you look at a map here, we are and there's like a campground here, campground there camp, i mean there's campgrounds everywhere near where we operate. We've gone into these campgrounds a few times we'll put in a ductless system for their screened-in porch area.

Things like that and they work great, but we're also seeing some of these guys run around the campgrounds that are, you know, they're, just kind of doing this on the side: they're not licensed, and insured heating and air company they're kind of doing it for beer money And they're buying these ductless units online and they tell the customers we've had a few customers tell us that they're saying to them. Hey it's the same stuff, it's a different name, different brand, but you know it's the same stuff. It's got the same brains. It's the same guts right and i'm here to tell you that that is just simply not true.

I just want to caution you. The reason you should even be worried about this is some of these folks have taken his advice, and then they found out that that was not the case. There are days when it's really hot or really cold, and this system just cannot operate as well, and so how do you know? How do you tell the difference between a really good ductless unit versus one? That's not so great, there's a few things that i think you can look at before you get into all the nitty gritty and try to look up all the different stuff. I think there's three things you can look at that will help you determine really quick whether or not this is a decent system that they're putting in.
So what are the three things that you should be able to look at and know? What's up know whether it's a good ductless system or not? The first thing i would say you could look at really quick and know right off the bat. Is this a good system, and that is whether or not it has a good warranty most of the good ductless systems out there are going to come with at least a 10 or 12 year parts warranty well at griffin, air. We offer 12-year parts and labor warranty with our daikon ductless installations, and there are other companies out there that offer a decent warranty as well. So you know we see some of these ones that you can buy online it'll come with a one year, parts warranty a two three, maybe even five.

You know stretching it out there, but they're, not gon na give you a really long warranty, because then they'll have to honor that, and that will be a problem for them. The second thing, i think, that you can look at and know whether or not it's a good ductless system is just simply the performance of the system. So one thing that's good about this: campground is we've had folks be able to. You know have this off brand installed and then their neighbor finds out that it's not very good right.

So if you know someone that has one check with them and obviously it's gon na blow cold right, you know, let's go blow cool. You know on a mild day, but i would ask them: how is it doing on those extremely hot or extremely cold days? Is it? Is it producing heat or producing ac, and that will tell you the story that said most decent brands will have on their website? Hey this system will perform at a hundred percent capacity all the way down to this degree right. So there are some units that you know it might say down to five degrees. This system will produce heat some systems, negative five degrees, some systems, even all the way down to negative 13 degrees fahrenheit.

So that to me will tell you really quick whether or not this is a system that you know is up to snuff and, finally, i think again, without getting into all the you know: specs and efficiency and technology and actual parts themselves. The third thing that i think you can look at really quick and really easy and know whether or not it's a good system to install, and that is who is installing it and what i mean by that is uh. You know at griffonair, we don't install just anything right, you know just because your brother-in-law found something online and you bought it and you want it installed. We don't do that.

We because once our name is on it, that's a problem right and i think what you'll find is that's the case with most decent heating and air companies, a good decent heating and air company that's licensed and insured. If it's not something that they're selling, there might be a reason for that. So hopefully that helps, if you have any questions, put them in the comments below and thanks for watching. The last thing i'll say is if you're in the market for a new heating and air system and you're in virginia and the middle peninsula or the northern neck, give griffin air a call.
We'll give you a free estimate and the best warranty in the area. But if you're, not in our coverage area check out my new website, i've even got a little banner up here. Newhvacguide.Com check out that site, because we've put so much information on there. It's as if i wrote a book telling folks, hey here's, the good and the bad avoid this or that i've even got a whole page called no knows things to stay away from, and so before you spend thousands check out that website and finally, for more tips And tricks in the heating and air industry click that subscribe button thanks for watching you.

Stupid PR video for no brand :Daikin: crap.
Now days mini split 250 dollars. what parts are you talking about? just replace with new system and you all set.
Windows shaker in most stores above 200 dollars and making noise like is no tomorrow.

People ask me all the time which brand is the best because each different installer will recommend a different brand. In most cases when an installer recommends a specific brand is because they are getting an incentive to push that brand. I NEVER recommend a specific brand I always advice “Do your own homework “. Another popular question is what have I installed in my my own home, and the answer is Daikin, and yes I received an incentive/ special pricing from the wholesale distributor.

Good luck when they break. See if we have the parts on our truck or van. Not likely since they don’t share the same parts as our standard HVAC equipment. Also, it takes twice as long to properly perform preventative maintenance.

Down to what temperature will Daikin ductless produce heat?
