Warning: Don't ever add shock to your pool This way your pool could literally explode. And unfortunately, this has happened to several Pool owners. If you have an automatic chlorinator with your pool, never and I mean never add shock to your skimmer. Shock is a super concentrated dose of chlorine commonly found in the form of cow hypos shck.
And if you add it to your skimmer, it'll get sucked into your filter system and automatic chlorinator that contain a different type of chlorine usually trior chlorine. So when you combine Cal Hypos Shck in a small confined space with tror chlorine, it becomes a bomb that will blow up your filter system, Never add shock to your skimmer and Never mix trior tablets and Cal Hypo Shock together directly. Have you ever had anything crazy happen to your pool? Let us know in the comments.
How bout just don’t add anything to your skimmer. How hard it is to toss shock in the deep end and stir it up for a whole minute or 2.
I added splash rv and marine antifreeze directly to my skimmer. Today is day 3..anything I should be concerned about? Service area Barrhaven??
Buddy told me his grandpa blew himself out of his pool shed mixing chlorine. He was ok so it’s funny. Lol
Wait so I can’t use the footing hockey puck and my favorite shock together? Silly question but I been doing it for years ( never in the skimmer of course) then what do I use as a substitute for the puck?
I’m glad I saw this before adding the chlorinated we bought….. I feel like most people don’t know this.
