Look, maintaining your pool can be time consuming and a lot of pool owners will cut corners and it may end up costing them. But what, if you could automate your pool system so that it can be more efficient and less time consuming? And imagine you can do that from anywhere pool. Automation allows you to schedule your filtration cycles, your heating and your sanitation. It also allows you to control water features, your lighting and any other pool features you have and i'm a big believer in automation.
For a few reasons, number one you'll spend less time working on your pool and enjoying it more number, two you'll be able to control your pool from anywhere in the world. As long as there is an internet connection and number three, and while there may be some upfront cost, you'll be rewarded in the long run, because it'll save you time and money by running your pool more efficiently, it's kind of like having a robot pool buoy. Now, there's a lot of different ways to automate your pool, and i really want you to go out there and do your research. But another thing is you don't even have to automate the pool all at once you can just automate individual sections and gradually completely automate.
Your pool - and here are a few things you can do. The first thing you can do is automate your pool pump and the pool pump is the heart of the pool and it's one of the most effective ways to save time and money just by automating. For instance, if you already have a jandy variable speed pump, you can easily install the iq pump, which allows the jandy variable speed pump to hook up to your smartphone. That way, you can control your pool pump from anywhere in the world.
As long as you have an internet connection and you can create your own schedules and that will really help to save you time and money while running your swimming pool when you're ready to fully automate your pool you're going to want to use the eye aqualink from Zodiac, which allows you to control not only your pump, but your heating system, your sanitation system, your lights, your water features pretty much anything and you don't even have to be in your own backyard to control any of this. You can be anywhere in the world and all you really need is a tablet or a computer or your smartphone now. The last thing i want to mention isn't technically automation, but it will make your life a whole lot easier and i highly recommend investing in a robotic pool cleaner, like the polaris 9550. Now the really cool thing about this robotic cleaner is, you can put it in your pool and create schedules, for instance, if you wanted it to run on monday, wednesday and friday between six and seven pm at night, it can totally do that.
The other thing is, it can actually come out of the pool on its own with this easy lift system, so you put the cleaner in the pool and when it's done, it'll actually climb out of your pool really neat, like i said in the beginning, pool automation Is amazing and you don't have to do it all at once - you can simply get started if you have a jandy variable, speed pump by investing in the iq pump or a polaris 9550 robotic pool cleaner and of course you can go to swimuniversity.com. That's it thanks again and happy swimming you.
I see how I can automate turning the heater on, but the thing I haven't found yet is a pool thermostat. I'm picturing Nest for my pool so we can set it to be the temp we want by a given time. Have you seen that anywhere? Are you in Orleans ?
Since I am a handicapped old person this can help a lot.
I have the Polaris sport IQ pool cleaner. totally agree with other statements – it does not come "out" of the pool, it moves to the waterline so you can grab it. Also, I don't leave the robot IN the pool for chlorine to attack it, what's the point of sweeping up all the crud that gets in there if you're going to leave it IN the pool. Throw it in the pool, set it to clean, come back 3 hours later, grab it put it out of the sun (I have a deck box) after cleaning it out. That being said this upgrade from the Polaris pressure-side cleaner was night and day different. PLUS you don't have to run the pump to power it, which. for me with a dumb single speed pump would mean 3kw of power just to clean the pool. The next upgrade is certainly an automated pool pump, then valves. I can't wait to remove the mechanical timer.
This just talked about what’s available not how to do it Service area Kanata??
I like the ideas, but the biggest problem whit automated system is that it is not protected and allowed people whit little bit of IT skills to manipulate the system and take advantage. Those devices are like open door for your network.
Feel like this topic could use an update. 3 years is a lifetime for tech and there has to be more than the 1 solution mentioned.
Do you automate your pool in any way?
The Polaris lift system only lifts the cleaner to the water edge not out of the pool. You still have to be there to lift it out.
Three years ago I used a solar panel with a small pump to create a fountain. This attracted dragonflies which ate mosquitoes. Mosquito problem was no more. I had algae problem so I added a copper ionizer to a unit I built which is also a chlorination device and the algae was gone my chlorine levels were way down and maintenance was less than when I started all this using a mobile solar panel. I started a new job and I have no time for the pool. Sucks maybe soon I can get back to automating and will have a fully functioning product I can share.
Are there any systems that interstate with Google assistant/Alexa?
What companies make automated chemical controllers? (pH up, ph down) ( chlorinators) Also, what companies make automated backwash systems. Good tip on the Jandy motor/pump
