This was a first, I've seen water damage from careless workers but I've never seen grease damage .... but that's the best I could come up with on this one.

FTNGOT… Check you door seals by turning out the lights, closing and latching the door while you are inside the box in the freezing darkness.
its RSD isn’t it
great video chris,it might be worth buying a spare, what is the part # ?
He’s in McDonald’s, sound in the background sound familiar
Vegetable oil. Does the same thing to your stomach dude. They should be using tallow or animal fat. Service area Orleans??
The board seems to have lost its conformal coating. You can recover that board by cleaning it with iso propyl achohol (and if possible apply a layer of conformal coating on it). Service area Nepean??
was that same issues as you where having before few months agos
i remember that before they called u late 2 day before unite went out not cooling because they left door open for every n you got mad at them n you find out that board throw it self in service mode was confusing n later on it rotten away by moisture for leaving door open
Good job Chris, They gave you the board with the orange display to screw with you, haha just kidding.
You passed where I failed. I had a 'wrong' touch screen LCD display and thought the vendor had put a film on it to protect it. I proceeded to remove the touch screen from the display. Luckily these were only $10, they're like $40 now yet still that level of cheap.
If I had to guess: Due to the parts shortages, they either had to use a different supplier of 7 segment displays or the same manufacturer had that yellow/orange in stock.
Thank you for these videos! I am sure it's not the intention but these videos and Survival's videos have taught me a lot over the years. I watch for entertainment as I am not in the HVAC industry (RF Engineer). A few nights ago my home AC unit stopped cooling. It's south Alabama and it's hot and moist even at night. Big picture diagnosis right I can do this. I went through the unit thoroughly and found a compressor motor starter bad. Called in a favor from a friend he threw a capacitor in his mailbox and I got my unit cooling again. I never realized how much I have learned from these videos you actually saved me big money and a hot night. Thank you!
That evap fan motor was starting slow at the beginning of your video. As always, with so many things in our heads, multiple issues to take care of and another service call in line, is difficult to be masters of the obvious sometimes. Thank you for your videos again.
We have to use RSD In Simi Valley based out of Santa Maria and we use united refrigeration. There pretty on point in SM but Santa Barbara and Oxnard is okay but we trust Santa Maria lmao
United is great
The display is orange because there is a chip shortage and they do what they need to make new boards.
I can tell his supply house he had issues with is RSD. I have the same issues and my first on call was a complete failure. united answered the phone but the person never responded back to me. It was a commercial ac condenser fan so no real emergency but what was the point of calling united just to be ghosted.
Are the hats a jersey material?
he needs to stop interupring mid video and do it at the begining or end of the video makes me want to stop watching his videos and unsuscuribe from this channel
Fun Fact about ice cream: Each one of those tubs of ice cream is at least 40% air. Frozen ice cream is aerated, when it melts and re-freezes it becomes a very hard block in a partially-filled container.
I used to work at a gas station where our ice cream freezers broke down once a month. (One night it was reading 84°F! It wasn't time to do temp checks but I felt the heat radiating from the doors when I walked by and thought something wasn't quite right – too warm to be the door defrosters. 2nd Shift fudged numbers on the temp sheet out of laziness…) Every time that freezer went down it took $14K worth of product with it, except for the time it failed again while we were waiting for the shipment of product we had just thrown out, so that one time it failed while empty.
Mi vida loca!
That 7 segment display looks like it’s just missing the polarizing filter. Shouldn’t be a big issue as long as nothing goes in and damages the exposed substrate
Yes, grease is acidic. Also there are the other kitchen aerosols that contain salts that get airborne and this also attribute to the corrosion on metal surfaces. In my case as a consumer electronics repairman, I see a lot of these from the regular house kitchens into the entertainment area without adequate hood fans. Some corrosion, but not as much as in a humid area. The problem here that cockroaches and other vermin love the collection of grease, salts and lint coating the warm components. Tasty. Service area Kanata??
ALL could be Alarm Low
You did well friend!….after hours needing a supply house to open is frustrating in the non metropolis areas….it's does , however, establish integrity for your company vs. the others…
Do all these people leave their home's fridge and freezer doors open all day, too? smh…gotta wonder how some people made it even to the point they are.
My local supply house doesn't have a on call list. Basically you just need the counter guys phone numbers and hope they pick up. There is a $150 opening charge that they receive directly so there is an inventive to come in. Being on good terms with the guys and not causing issues is key.
Happy Fathers day to you. Stay safe and be well Chris.
I hope when the ice cream melts and re-freezes, they sell half-off milkshakes, or free ones. lol. c;mon guys.
679 Thumbs uP Service area Ottawa??
Another cause for the corrosion could be fumes from detergents or salt in the air. Like at the coast where even stainless corrodes.
If your normal supply house is RSD they changed there after hours to a voluntary and every store has there own number for it and who ever has the phone has the option to go or not. My understanding is they had a bunch of guys at the California stores that wanted to get paid for every hour they were on call at there normal rate, plus a bunch of other things. So they went to the new voluntary system.
Board that new shouldn't fail. Grease in the air. Humidity. Whatever. It shouldn't fail. It's a commercial environment so should be built for it. I wouldn't trust Intelligen based on this video.
Great Video, also that left motor is likely an ECM Motor was retrofitted in there or the middle and right motors were replaced with PSC Motors Are you in Barrhaven ?
Extra Salty staff make the world go round. Are you in Kanata ?
So, considering the fact leaving doors open causes serious problems for walk-in coolers and freezers, why aren't there alarms which sound whenever a door is left open longer than some pre-determined length of time? It would be a very simple and inexpensive way to increase reliability and performance for most any walk-in installation.
ok, so please explain to me why you have uncovered circuit board / wires inside the cooler/freezer? We never, ever, ever ever put controllers inside the cell itself always outside in a rittal/metal/plastic case. You know that crap will break down due to moisture …. Why please tell me, thx Are you in Ottawa ?
I love that tablet mount! Can you please tell me the name of it? Thanks!
You know they’re going to resell that ice cream
Thanks Chris !
Haha one of these days you’re gonna finger the ice cream and your hand will go through it and have a mess haha
