So today, we're gon na be showing you how to clean a ductless blower wheel, specifically in some cases you need to clean the whole thing, but in this case we're going to focus on the blower wheel in Florida, especially the blower wheels, get quite dirty. You can clean them in place if you have a bib kit, but we find that often it makes more sense to remove and clean them. So the first thing we're gon na do is simply flip up the shroud. We're then going to remove the air filters from both sides of the air handler.
We're then going to remove the front cover completely next we're going to remove the directional vanes from the bottom, the horizontal vanes, those are removed very easily with just a few tabs. You slide those tabs and this orientation you slide them to the right and then the horizontal vanes can easily be slid out. Those are often dirty also and can be cleaned you can see in this case. This is a Mitsubishi ductless system.
We have two of these horizontal vanes. Different manufacturers will vary slightly, we're going to now remove these three small plastic clips in order to expose the Philips head screws in behind. In this model there are three Phillips head screws which are going to remove once the screws are removed. Then you can slide the bottom out and remove the face.
In some cases, you may need to release some clips in the top in general you're, going to just be pressing down on those in order to release or pressing up from the inside, depending on the model. Next, we're going to release the entire drain pan so that that way, the drain pan assembly can be slid out of the way, make sure that all electrical power is shut off. Before doing any of this, the drain pan can be released down in most cases. That drain pan may have wandered it, so you would make sure to remove any of that water before dropping the pan.
Now you can see how dirty this blower will really is in cases of heavy soil like this. This is partially why we like to remove it to get it really clean. Next, you have to loosen this set screw. This is a Philips head set screw that you will need to loosen making sure that you generally remove it all the way or nearly all the way, so that the blower wheel can be easily released.
Next, you remove these screws on the left-hand side in order to allow the coil to slide forward so that you can get access to pull the blower wheel out. This part takes some finesse and gentleness, but you can generally lift up and then towards you in order to pull the coil far enough out that the blower wheel can be accessed without needing to do any major surgery to the equipment. It's important if this work is being done inside, that you have dropped, claws in place and that you're protecting all surfaces. This is garage, so it's not nearly so important.
Now you simply take it outside and wash it off. We will often use Viper cleaner, such as evap plus spray it on the blower wheel beforehand. Obviously, any time you're cleaning off something like this blower wheel, you want to make sure you're not getting the dirt and grime onto the customer's driveway. In this case, we successfully clean the blower wheel using nothing, but a garden hose now make sure to allow it to dry fully before reinstalling. Now, the simplest thing to show is everything that we just showed you only in Reverse all right, so that is it. That is the completed, cleaned, blower wheel, everything back in place, and now it's just a matter of cleaning up the jobsite and getting out of here.
I want to say the video is good but the music is the bom👍
Thanks for the video =)
How do u close the shroud cover. It’s so rigid I’m afraid of breaking it…
an easier way for home owners is to just lay a dust sheet down and use an artist paint brush to brush the mould from the fan wheel it takes a while and you won't remove it all this way but it will certainly improve the airflow and you won't have to strip anything down just get a paint brush the fits through the fan guard. plus stripping systems down like this isn't ideal, they left the drip tray hanging from it's drain outlet connection, sometimes these can be brittle and crack especially if they are old then you would need to replace the drip tray.
And then a call back cause the drain clogged. Ur guys were just here n now my wall is ruined blah blah. Are you in Ottawa ?
Anyone have any advice on quieting the motor or bearings? I have a similar model and it’s just so much more noisy than when we first got it.
Any thoughts on if this is possible with a HAIER unit. I am having trouble removing the blower wheel. I can't find a screw on the right hand side and I think I might have to lift off the whole coil.
Very useful video. Thanks. I have an LG with the same problem. Your instruction confirm the approach I took and my reasoning. The only problem is that in the LG the are obviously some other retainer clips hidden here and there. Preventing me from lifting the evaporator. But I am on the right track. Thank you.
Well, I was trying to see if you needed a bucket or something to drain the condensation in when you take the unit apart.
Theres ways much much easier to do this job…+ lot cheaper also 👍
If you happen to clean a Senville Leto (18K BTU) mini-split, PLEASE record and post the cleaning of the indoor unit! Thanks!
In Trinidad and Tobago we used pressure washer up to 2100 psi to clean coils and wheel without damaging to both fins and blower wheel
THANK YOU!!! —Your video just saved us hundreds of dollars as the installation tech said, “There is no way you can clean these yourself. It’s just too technical and could be dangerous. We recommend you getting us out here every three months…no later than 6-months between cleanups. For your four units it would be $500, —but we’ll give you a discount to $350.” $1400/year Vs a couple of hours and a pack of Clorox wipes. Actually was fun once the first one was done!
Me after watching the video: Oh just going to hire a professional instead.
Sometimes I wish we did it this way rather than using those stupid bibs Service area Nepean??
Good job
If you're in NYC or Long Island check out Cool Clean Services. Knowledgeable and reasonably priced.
I must have the only model on the PLANET that doesn’t have the tabs that release the vane blades.
SHIT IS INFURIATING!!! Service area Kanata??
Really good vid thanks.
I was able to figure out my Tadiran from it and the job went great. Biggest problem for me was lining up the condensor and the motor cover when putting it back together and then of course one screw left over !!!! Are you in Orleans ?
how to clean nanoe g? ?
Great video and great voice!
Tech cuts across the grass instead of walking down the driveway…FAIL!!!
J/K… excellent video; short and to the point! Thanks for all your useful videos!
Finally a video with English speakers.. don't know why I have been clicking on videos with English titles but as I start viewing all I hear is….. Bla tomamla kolala tulala tulala blah blah mini split tulala..
I don't know what that language is nor why the videos don't indicate so. Irritating waste of time Service area Barrhaven??
How do I reset the louver on a DuctlessAire? (I believe it is a Daiken type system) I gently moved it from the closed position to allow access for removal. Now when I put it back together I couldn't manually return it to closed and when turned off, it remains partially open.
How Much would something like this cleaning cost? Are you in Barrhaven ?
Thank you for making this video straight to the point! Good job bud
i wish i had house like that. but i never will. I enjoy watching it on youtube though
If only air conditioners were made like this. In most cases you cant remove the blower without dissasembling the whole thing….
Ok ima call a professional to do this my ass will break it I really need this cleaning 🧽 cause it’s affecting my white wall and my breathing I’m going to call my management office and leave a urgent message thank you I wake up with black stuff in my nose

Actually trading was not easy for me.
Lost a lot of money through + 500, FBS also lost a lot of money to trading assistants and copy trader's, almost gave up on forex / Bitcoin trading. but a friend of mine introduced me to a good broker, at first i thought it was another way of wasting my hard earned savings. But my greatest surprise was my investment of $ 3,000 came out with $ 6,580 in 10 days trading ….. You just have to be patient with them till your trades are completed ….. To be honest I didn't just recovered all my previous losses .. I made much more than my past expenses .. actually she charges 15% which won't affect you in any way since her trading efficiency comes in multiples of investment …
I personally recommend Mrs Caroline trading services for best copy trading always trade with them and stop loosing your money …. reach out to her and believe me a trial will convince you

SAVED MY LIFE BROTHER! Service area Orleans??
was that a fiero in the garage??
Be sure to inspect the wheel and determine if it's good enough to go back in. Some mini splits have a rubber end holding the shaft that acts as a flex coupler. If that wears out and gets too soft a perfectly cleaned wheel will vibrate even with a new motor and bearings.
Good work
That air handler/evaporator is installed too close to the ceiling
I did clean it without dismantling the vanes. The roller type blower has thin plastic vanes. Heavy accumulation of dust and dirt cake the vanes. They can be easily cleaned using a mascara brush very well.
Good Stuff – Very useful video. My Daikin Mini-split is working great now. Thanks~
Nice video 8655448830.mumbai
Once my blower wheel was clean and dry I sprayed it with 3m anti-static electronic equipment cleaner and then wiped it off. The next time I went to check the blower wheel which was many months later it was free of dirt. Is there any harm in using this?
I tried but got scared halfway hahah. My mind said you can do it but truthfully, better asked the technician to do it.
Very useful video
