Hey guys welcome back to the channel. I had somebody asked me this question the other day and i wanted to do a video on it uh. Basically, the question was something to the effect of hey. You know i'm a heating and air guy.

Should i give family and friends a discount, or should i work for free? That was the actual questions you know should. Should the discount be so deep that i should work for free, and so i'm going to answer that question? In my opinion, uh there's different opinions on this, but i think that i have a couple good valid points on why i feel the way i do if you are a family member or friend to someone that does heating and air and we're not just talking about Heating and air we're talking about any profession right. So if you have a family member that does taxes for a living, should they do your taxes for free? If you have a family member that works on cars for a living, should they repair your car for free and your answer may be? Yes, you know if we're good enough family, if we're good enough friends, they should do it for free. My take on that is obviously if this is something i do for a living.

This is how i take care of my family. This is what i've gone to school, for i've invested money and time in i personally would never do that. To someone that i considered a close family member or friend, one of my best friends does our landscaping. I've never asked him for a discount, and i know it's how he takes care of his family.

So i i don't ask for discounts on that. In fact, as a good friend of his, i try to bless him. One of my other best friends he's an engineer. You know, so he does site plans and i don't really know what all he does.

He does all kinds of crazy stuff he has to meet with county officials. Sometimes i would never even ask him to do anything for free. I have done heating and air stuff for him. I give him a discount because he is a really good friend of mine and if he extended a discount to me that would be obviously appreciated.

But my gosh, i would never ask him to do it for free, but you may feel differently. You know, and that's fine, i'm just telling you from the point of view of someone that could be taken advantage of what my thoughts are, if you understand that, whether it's your heat and air guy or any other profession, if you understand that you know a good Friend, a good family member would bless their friends and family. You know not to get all spiritual on you, but you know there is a such thing as reaping what you sow uh some people call it karma whatever it is. You want to call it if you are a good friend, you know sowing into that.

You know being a good friend being a good family member right, my wife's parents uh. We give them discounts all the time, but my gosh they do so much for us that i feel like i don't do enough right. We repair their heating and air equipment and um. You know i wish i could do more, sometimes right.

What are your thoughts on this comment down below? Are you someone that has struggled with this? You know maybe you're a heat and air guy and you've got friends and family that expect you to do things for free or at a super, deep discount or in some other profession. What are your thoughts on this? I'm curious. You know, i'm not saying i'm right. I'm just telling you how i feel uh as a good friend or a good family member to someone else.

I don't care what their profession is. I'm gon na bless them as much as i can or if i can't afford their services. Well then, maybe i shouldn't be calling them, because i can't afford their services.
