Hey Pool Owners: Is your pool pump running dry? It means you need to prime your pump. ASAP If you turn on your pump and it's not full of water, the pump can overheat, melt your pump seals, and damage your pool plumbing. priming means getting water flowing through the pump before you let it run for an extended amount of time. To prime your pump, turn off the pump, remove the lid, and add water to the pump housing with a garden hose.

Let the hose run for two to three minutes. Once you've filled up the pump housing, replace the lid, and turn the pump back on. Hopefully it'll fill with water, but you may need a couple of tries. Follow us at Swim University for more pool care tips Throughout the year.
