Doing some final stuff before we finally hook up my Carrier Infinity heat pump. So we went with a two ton. We're replacing my 4ton this last weekend. What I did was ran a whole new line set.
Still got a little bit more work to do in the Attic but we got Unistrut running the whole way over. Uh, we got 60 ft of pipe so far and then we got to make a couple connections here and there. We got a EMT for the thermostat wire ran all on Unistrut Um, it's just stubbed out here. it's capped on the ends.
We'll run newer stat wire and everything. Went ahead and remove the old disconnect switch that used to be right here. It was just being used as a junction box. put a 4x4 junction box EMT over into a new Euro style disconnect switch into a voltage monitor.
Uh, surge protector coming out of that into the condensing unit. Now this right here. This whip is temporary actually not even using the voltage monitor but just trying to do everything. Still got to go around and uh, seal these connections and everything.
so we're looking good. So far.
Going from 4t to 2t is possible due to vetter efficiency? Or was the 4t overkill to begin with? Btw such a clean install!
Talk about a bunch of unnecessary bull shit
Nice and clean job and it better be or the wife kick your ass 😂
Why did you run a new line set? Don't get me wrong no one uses unistrut on residential installations but the old line set is ran in the walls.
Wow dude! That’s a nice set up! Just a question? How much you paying your employees out there in California? Service area Nepean??
Carrier infinity is garbage ! This video is sponsor by Sporlan
Incredible
B e a u t i f u l😮
replace the metal conduit with rubber it will mess with communication over time and cause boards to fail. and I'm so sorry you're going with carrier. it's the worst brand Are you in Ottawa ?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Service area Barrhaven??
This is why you hire a pro, against code to wrap liquid line dummy…plus you can only size a unit when using a manual J calculation.
How do you make your Lineset insulation look so good at the corners
Why did you decide to replace a two ton with a four ton
Tell me you do commercial without telling me you do commercial 😂🤣😂
Brings a smile to my face. It’s a beautiful install. And yet you say you’re not an installer.
All the little things like running the thermostat line in emt will add to the reliability and longevity of the system. Trouble free operation for years when things are done right!
Do you have a link for that disconnect and surge protector?
With as much as some places are charging for change outs you would expect this level of work.
Amazing 👏 craftsmanship 💯
Great equipment, I love the carrier green speed 25vna4. I work for level 9 hvac and we sell carrier and lennox high efficiency systems and in my opinion carrier has far less issues.
I specialize in geothermal units if the investment can be made thats the best unit around in my Area. Check out the climatemaster Qe trillogy units they are inverter driven Geos and do 100% of your hotwater heating 45 seer plus easy and get a 30% federal tax credit.
Beautiful work! Are you in Nepean ?
Just got my CT-XL today – its everything you made it out to be, cant wait to kit it out 👏 thanks for the hot tip mate!
You should do more installing. You do really nice work 🤔👍
4 ton to a 2 ton wow
I just had an orgasm looking at them lineset and electrical pipes 😂
looking forward to the video Service area Ottawa??
How are you going from a 4 ton to a 2 ton unit? Was the old one oversized that much???
This is really nice for residential… but should be the standard imo
This is how I have the central ran at my house. Uni holding the line set but I wrapped mine with white E flex guard. Just installed mini for my master room that was an add on, added shallow uni inside Rectorseal line set cover to hold line set better.
Awesome, love the position of the lineset drop. It will be nicely hidden from view while enjoying the yard 👌
Nice work
Nice.
My downstairs unit is still a shifty Goodman recipe heat pump.
The AHU is in the 2nd floor attic with duct drops thru chases.
I'm tempted to install a Carrier VRF or mini VRF with ceiling cassettes downstairs.
Then I'd get larger closet space when I removed the vertical duct chases.
Xtra af
Very nice 👍🏻
Looking super clean.
Looks good
That's first class. Excellent work.
Better get that extended warranty on that infinity 🤣🤣🤣 i see them blow condenser and evap fan motors, and control boards all the time and they aren't 2-300 parts. 1000+ for those variable speed and control boards. Also have seen problems with the loader unloader scrolls. But that looks like it's the variable speed compressor. Hope its not an LG 😬😬😬
Loooking awesome 🎉
Home improvements are good for years to come Are you in Kanata ?
The CLEANEST install!! I’m dying, it’s amazing. Truly my dream install. 🔥🔥🔥 Are you in Barrhaven ?
Recommendation: I would highly recommend considering putting radiant barrier insulation around the line sets. However, now that I think about it . Maybe not since you have a heat pump you're going to need that radiant heat in the winter to help out with the heat pump. Even though inverter heat pumps are awesome. The heat like no other heat pump.
I don't know it's something to think about.
I just recommended it to shield the line. Sets/ insulation from radiant heat and UV.
Love it when commercial grade quality is done on residential. So clean!
Soy un admirador de tu trabajo. Un abrazo desde Colombia parcero! Service area Orleans??
Nice looking good !! Professional
EMT for the thermostat wire!! damn, fancy
❤
You should consider Bronco Saddles rather than hydrozorbs for your horizontal line set runs in the attic. Through they don’t mech fasten the line set to the strut, the saddles snap into the strut groove and they don’t need to disturb the lineset insulation. Will save you some joint glue and taping in the 120 degree plus attic.
Happy hunting from Massachusetts Service area Kanata??
I've been an hvac tech since 91 and questioning why are you replacing a 4ton with a two ton unit. Just because it's a heatpump doesn't mean you can get away with half the needed tonnage. Otherwise, very nice clean installation
Good shit
What do you think about using a euro style 3 pole switch on a rtu? Or would you stick with the old lever box?
What kind of surge protector are you using?
It finally looks like my wish of Chris finishing the project before my birthday might actually happen.
Line set looks nice. I'm a big fan of the individual holes. Makes air sealing much easier and effective
