Got a new hot tub? Here are three things that you must do before starting it up for the first time. Number one, Watch out for antifreeze. New hot tubs come with antifreeze in the lines to protect it in colder temperatures. So use a hose to spray water directly into each jet to clean out the antifreeze or fill the hot tub, circulate the water through the pump for several minutes and then drain completely before refilling.
Number two: Use the filter. Well, put your hose inside the filter. Well, when you're filling up your hot tub with water, this is going to prevent any air from getting in your hot tub lines with which can cause your hot tub pump not to work properly. Number three: Prime your pump.
Once your hot tub is full of fresh water, prime your pump to remove any air in the lines, Use the priming setting or run your jets for 20 seconds at a time, on and then off to clear out any air from the system.
