When's, the last time you cleaned your pool like really cleaned it. Maybe you've been putting it off because, let's be honest, cleaning, the pool isn't nearly as fun as swimming in it or maybe you just don't know where to start well. Here are seven steps for cleaning your pool. The right way check it out.

First, why does your pool need to be cleaned so much while chemicals like chlorine or bromine, can keep your water clean? They can't do everything. Debris can get into the water, and algae can build up in their pools, corners and crevices, so things like brushing and vacuuming is absolutely necessary, but water chemistry is still crucial, so be sure to check out our other videos on balancing your pool water step. Number one get the right cleaning supplies before you get to cleaning you'll need a telescopic pole, a skimmer net, a vacuum head, a vacuum hose and a skim vac or a vacuum plate if needed, and the right pool brush. If your pool is unpainted concrete use a brush with both stainless steel and nylon bristles, if it's a gunite use a brush with stainless steel bristles and if you have a fiberglass, vinyl or painted concrete pool, use a brush with nylon, bristles only step number two brush.

Your pool at least twice a week, a little elbow grease, can help prevent a huge problem later so at least twice a week brush the walls, ladders and corners of your pool be sure to get into every nook and cranny where algae likes. To hide brushing will push the algae into the water, making it easy for your sanitizer to kill it step number three vacuum up debris every other day. I know i know it seems like a lot, but leaving things floating around in your pool is just asking for trouble down the road so be sure to take your time while vacuuming rushing will kick up debris if the water becomes cloudy, let it resettle for a Few hours and come back to vacuum again if the vac head becomes stuck or your filter pressure gets too high switch off the pump for a second to break the vacuum force. You may also need to backwash your filter when you finish: cleaning remove the vacuum head from the pole and drain the water from the vacuum hose, attach your cleaning brush to the telescopic pole and give the sides of the pool a nice scrub.

If all that vacuuming sounds exhausting, you might want to invest in an automatic pool cleaner, even though it's expensive, they can really pay off in the long run. Just keep in mind that an automatic pool cleaner is great for regular maintenance, but not for big pool problems. If there's a lot of debris, it'll toss it right back into the water as it vacuums and if you've got a big algae problem, you'll have to use a manual pool vacuum real quick before we continue. If you're looking for an easy to follow tutorial.

If you have a lot to clear when you vacuum you'll want to adjust your filter first, let's say that you have a lot of leaves in your pool after a storm or you've used flocculin to clear up your water. Both can sink to the bottom of your pool, and it can be a lot to vacuum up. This is where your filter system settings come in handy for multi-port valves. They have a setting called waste.

This keeps things like debris and flocculant from clogging your filter with the waste setting. Your pool water level is going to drop so use a garden hose with a hose filter to add water, while you're vacuuming and keep air out of the skimmer inlet and make sure that you switch the valve back to the filter settings when you're done. For a two position or a push pull valve filters, they also have a filter setting all the water you vacuum will be pulled into and cleaned by, your pool's filter just be sure to backwash the pool filter. During and after you vacuum the pool step, number five test, your pool water once you've brushed vacuum and topped off your pool with water test, your pool, water and adjust alkalinity ph and chlorine as needed, step number six clean the pool filter, no matter how much you Clean if your filter is dirty, the water is dirty.

The method that you use to clean the filter will depend on which type you have regardless clean your filter on a regular basis and keep an eye out for debris between cleaning and finally, step number seven clean. Your pool deck hosing down your pool deck is fine for regular maintenance, but once in a while it'll need disinfecting, you can buy liquid pool deck cleaner or you can use tri-sodium phosphate, which is a water-soluble powder. Whatever you use be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and a pressure washer or a high pressure nozzle on your garden hose really comes in handy here and that's it. I have a question that nobody can answer. maybe the experts at Swim University can!
I won an Aquatbot xtreme robotic pool cleaner. It is marketed as a vacuum for in ground pools. I do not have an in ground pool, but I do have a fairly large 18×33 above ground pool. I would love to be able to use this cleaner in my pool however because it's marketed for in ground I am unsure if there is any risks to my pool and liner. I called Aquabot directly and they could not answer me. they just believed that it would be overkill but they could not say if using a pool robot for above ground pools would cause any issue. they also never have heard of anyone using one of their robots for above ground pools.
I cannot be the only one. I just can't be.
What do you guys think? Can I use this robot or will it present a danger to my liner?
