Im colorblind so these test strips are pretty useless to me.. I use the free water testing at the pool stores.. 1 thing i learned.. Leslies is commissioned based sales people..so they will always tell you that you need something. (Just say you have some leftover at home) Other pool places that arent commissioned based are better…but both are usually free water testing.
For newies: If PH is high (above 7) use muriatic acid , if it is low (below 7) use baking soda. Once PH is balanced (7) add chlorine. Chlorine wont work if PH is not balanced and remember to shock your pool once a week in summer time. Taylor basic test kit for $14 will help you reading PH. Honestly you don't need to worry to much about the rest measurements, they will balance itself with PH. Are you in Nepean ?
You say "don't shake the strip" but you show someone shaking the test strip
Can I use regular test strips for my salt water pool or should I buy specific salt water test strips?
My CYA is always high, no matter what I do. I just started ignoring it. Service area Barrhaven??
Pools are a nice but a bit or work thanks for the tips, especially right now with the price of chemicals so expensive! I purchased 35 pound tabs at Leslie’s for 199 minus a 40 coupon. You can find good deals on offer up I have a few 40 pound buckets waiting to be picked up for 150 bucks cash. You can also buy Muriatic acid 2 gallons for 10 bucks at Walmart Vs 1 gallon for 18 bucks at Leslie’s.
Really appreciate all the tips and advice.swim university helps me so much.
