Hey everybody welcome to swimuniversity.com. My name is matt javanese and today we're talking about the spa frog mineral system for your hot tub. As you may already know, i'm a huge fan, huge fan of doing less work and a huge fan of minerals to sanitize the water, especially in your hot tub, and that's why today i want to talk about the spa frog system which combines minerals and a little Bit of bromine to sanitize your entire hot tub up to 600 gallons of water, the spa frog system is a floating device that comes with two cartridges. The yellow cartridge is your bromine cartridge, and the blue cartridge is your mineral cartridge.

Together these go into your hot tub and sanitize the water. The only thing you have to do is make sure to replace the bromine when it's needed and change and make sure that the ph and alkalinity are properly balanced in your hot tub at all times. All right we're going to take a look inside the box that you're going to get with your spa frog system, so we're opening the box. It comes with the floating device which you see here, test strips jackpot jumpstart, which is a packet sodium.

You throw into your hot tub, so anytime, you use the spa frog system. You want to make sure that it's a fresh fill you throw this packet in there and then you can get your floating system set up and then here are the two cartridges at the bottom. You have your bromine cartridge right here and you have your mineral cartridge. Now, i'm going to show you how to set this up and use it in your hot tub before we get started using the system, you want to use the test strips that come with the spa frog system, we're going to test the water and make sure the Ph and alkalinity are properly balanced and make sure there's enough calcium in there, as well after you've, tested the water and made sure that the ph and alkalinity are properly balanced.

We're going to add one packet of the jumpstart that comes with the spa frog kit. Now we're going to talk about the two cartridges that come with the spa frog, the blue one is the mineral system and the yellow one is the bromine okay for the mineral system we're gon na. Actually, it has a dial on it and we're gon na turn. It to six we're gon na open it all the way up and keep it at six, and this is gon na last for four months: okay, and in four months when this is finished, you can drain refill your hot tub and purchase a new spa frog.

As for the bromine, we're gon na turn it to the number three to start once you have, it turned to the number three you put it in the uh, the floating device here, let it float around the hot tub and just make sure you check your spa Daily check the water, with the test strips that come with the kit to make sure that your bromine is hovering at about one part per million. Now the best thing about this system is that you only have to keep the bromine at one part per million. Now, when you get in it, i recommend that you take the floating device and take it out of your hot tub, turn it upside down so that it drains all the water and and when you're using the hot tub. You don't want the floating device in there.
As well so just take it out, put it somewhere safe and then you can put it back in once you get out of the hot tub. So that's it for the spa frog and i have to admit i'm a huge, huge fan of anything that requires me to do less work and therefore i'm gon na give it the swim university smart buy seal of approval for the spa frog system. Again it comes with test strips, i mean, that's just a bonus right there, this the jump, start system, the floating device, bromine and minerals to sanitize the water. Now, if you have to replace the bromine, you can go to your local pool dealer that sells the spa frog and find out if you can get a replacement cartridge for it and just replace it.

Every two to four weeks is usually how long it'll last you can visit our website swimuniversity.com and thanks for watching ribbit ribbit. So you.

I just bought a hot tub. I am trying to learn which chemicals to buy in order to take care of it. I am confused as to what bromine is? Is that what is in salt water pools? Also, I wasn't aware that minerals were supposed to be in the water. I read the I'm supposed to use "Spa Metal Free". Isn't that suppose to REMOVE minerals, which is what is needed?

Great videos man. Short and to the point with no commercials. Clear camera. Clear Audio. Clear water. Nice tub. A few more jets and it could fly away.

Do you have to shock weekly with this system when you use the test strip there's no parts per million it's just one box and it says lighter than this is an issue how do I know I am at 1 parts per million

Started up the hot tub yesterday, the water is already clear and can’t wait until the water is warm enough. This is the first time using Spa Frog, I can’t believe the water was clear and not cloudy within hours. We have well water and with other products, it took days for the water to be ready. Thank you Spa Frog.

Love your videos! This is the exact system I use and I was wondering if you could explain how to use non-chlorine shock with this system.
