Don Gillis compares the flammability levels of A1 versus mildly flammable A2L refrigerants, explaining that while A1s are labeled as "non-flammable" they will combust under the right conditions. Lab tests show that A2Ls are more similar to A1s than they are different.

We need to do do as best as we can to ease everyone's pain and the growth here. that the A2l are much closer to an A1 than they are an A3 or even an A2 quite honestly. Um, and as Jason said and I always point out too is you know it's not like we're saying A1's You know you add enough heat to to an A1 refrigerant. it will combust.
you know? So let's be. Let's be very clear, we show a lot of flames there With A1s as an example, proving that they're flamable. you know, just it's just breaking that degree if you will. That template they use that signifies whether it's flamable or nonf flamable.
I just recently got certified for A2L refrigerant. They are not super flammable like everyone thinks. I know a lot of people are scared due to the fact that it’s a little more flammable. A lot of people don’t realize though the refrigerant they use in their car is extremely flammable though but they’re OK driving that.
Good ol’ Chemours guys, subsidiary of DuPont, trying to explain the forced refrigerant shift that the government is getting paid to do by DuPont, Honeywell, and Carrier. The HVAC industries Corruption Trinity. Service area Orleans??
I have to disagree, we will see ten years down the road if this was the solution to the global warming issue.
I'm actually much more concerned about guys getting oxygen into the system. Fuel, oxygen, and pressure is an explosive recipe.
Tell everyone the price of HVACR work is going to increase because of more risk to the mechanics. It’s already high but prepare for more. Mechanics will demand more money for the added risk and new tools required
Yeah I hear the complaints about the flammability a lot. From guys that work with natural gas and propane no less. Keep getting the word out that it's safe if treated with respect
