    "real estate" issue might be a good topic to dive into. America is big and most ppl got side and back yards. I would say 70% of americans do have the real estate to use the "trash can" design, but the 30% of americans do live in the urban area where the land cost more than the dwelling would have to think twice about. I think there will be a significant market for the side discharge for the 30% population

    I would love to see ductless companies like Daikin, LG, mitsubishi branch out and use the existing minisplit inverter condenser and adapt a conventional air handler to get 18-20SEER. I know mitsubishi started to do this and even add adapter to interface aftermarket t-stats (e.g. ecobee, honeywell, nest, etc…). Hopefully, more ppl would follow.
