According to Bert, Kalos has made a grave mistake. Whether or not that’s true is anyone’s guess. Meanwhile we get to check out the SolderWeld booth and see what cool products they have in store.
Join us on 3/11 – 3/13 2021 for the 2ND annual HVAC/R training symposium. This will be a structured conference with classes and demos going on throughout each day from 8AM to 5PM with opportunities to hang out along the way. You will come away with new relationships with the best in the trade as well as some excellent training.
Go to hvacrschool.com/events to find out more.

Just okay: there you go now what's going on here. Oh wait, wait a moment for kayla's or anyone this. This is really just a bad moment for kayla's or anyone here, um just the excess that goes into some of this. You know the plan.

I don't know what happened though. Well done, oh well, i mean, if you look over here, you literally have people. Can you just hold this for me, my on? Oh, you can't. No, we literally have people dumping over here dumping the coffee on the ground, because we just have so much extra coffee.

That people are are complaining about the excess coffee and we have to dump it on the ground. Wow. I've never heard anybody complaining about having too much coffee. You wouldn't believe the kind of people that come to this place just hvac nerds.

Oh my gosh. They complain constantly about excessive coffee and we just dump it on the ground. You know we got to make them happy, that's what we're here for so what? What? What are you? What are you drinking right there um water can, i can, can i have proof of that? Okay, nope, oh and we got alex dumpster, diving product of calos and what it's doing, brian's son himself alex orr brian's other son, we're gon na keep walking. We don't need to see this or won't i i would like to, but you guys don't need to see it.

The next one right here, i'd actually rather say on our very own symposium website. You can watch this talk and everything that's going on. This is jim bergman right here. Talking we're gon na move out of there, because that's only for paying customers just kidding but also kind of not you know, let's go, let's go see what else we got see.

Maybe we can talk to some sponsors. Let's go over here check out testo over here. Excuse me: yes, hi there. Can you tell me a little bit about what you got over here in your booth here you you want to put this on for me, just clip that on your shirt just make it a little bit easier, as we can hear you.

How long do you want me to go, however long? You want yeah. My name is john feigen with testo and we're here at this training symposium here in claremont uh with uh, brian orr and uh. What we're displaying here on the table. Our testo has a full line of hvac products, uh test and balancing instruments here, airflow instruments.

Starting up here we got the air, we got the airflow instruments here we got, we got two instruments called a 440 and a 400 which are displays and uh we're we're using an assortment of different probes to measure indoor, air quality and ventilation measurements. So you see here these are: we have wireless probes that communicate to the remote displays these. These probe handles are wireless community bluetooth. Communicating to the display - and the nice thing about these instruments is that the probes, they're all interchangeable.

So this one happens to have a a thermal anemometer on here to go inside the inside the ducts. I can change this though, and put on a vein anemometer, and this would be a vein anemometer to measure supply and returns, grills grills and registers, so we're actually looking at grills and registers with an extension and we're measuring what we call the feet per minute. The feet per minute is going into the instrument the measurements are and we can in throughout the instrument we can put in the area the duct size. Look at this calculated cfm.
We can record the readings we can. We can send those readings through email. We can document the reading store. The readings coming through down through here.

You've got a combustion analyzer, that's a flue gas analyzer measuring oxygen and carbon monoxide and nox, we're looking at the byproducts of combustion, so we can properly tune a boiler or a furnace for combustion. Efficiency and emission emissions of the flue gases very popular on gas, furnaces oil, furnaces uh, certainly boilers to tune tuned for efficiency, compliance and and safety, and then here we're focusing our really the booth on these are the new digital gauges from testo one's a 557 s And a 550s, what i'm holding here is a 557 you can see here. The form fit and function of the instrument hasn't changed very much. The dimensions are the same: people like the size of this instrument, the durability, the the way we put gaskets and and seals on the instrument to protect for any type of moisture intrusion into the instrument very solid from a brass fittings going into the aluminum block.

Here you have the sight glass, you have a hook. You have four four double a batteries. Um nice thing about the new one here, the 557s and the 550s. You see we enlarged the display.

Here the display is much larger, so we can put all the measurement measurements and the calculations on on one display. One five inch display reduce the number of buttons. We went from nine buttons to four buttons and we had it's easy to navigate through the different displays for evacuation: the superheat sub cooling, the pressure test, things of that nature, big thing too, on this, not only the size and the display changes the operational changes, but Everything is wireless here. Instead of using wired probes, you still can use those wired probes, but you also, we also done is all the smart probes that we have and we have a whole family of smart probes.

These happen to be two temperature temperature, pipe clamp, temperature probes. This is our new vacuum sensor right here, and all these can be are bluetooth into the instrument. So you got one of these on a suction line. You got one one on the liquid line on the temperature side, you're doing you're, pulling a vacuum and you're getting this all on the display of the instrument and from the instrument.

We also have a blue. We bluetooth it to a an app and the app is a testos testosmart app and we're able to look at the app and transfer the readings from the instrument onto the app. So you really have two displays. You have a local display here, which is the measurement readings.
Then you have your remote smart device, which you can go distance of around 300 feet or so and same with the probes you're. Looking at a distance of about 300 feet, you can have the relative humidity temperature probes can communicate to the 557. The 550 s. You got the temperature probes, you got the vacuum probe, so all in all, everything is really going.

Wireless uh and obviously it opens up a lot of opportunities as far as distances. You know you can be inside a house, have the probes outside on a condensing unit and and get your temperature readings. You can be up in the attic. Looking at your your temperature and relative humidity readings and have the have the the unit unit down by the the uh, the condenser and so we're, we got a lot of distance, a lot of distance between the probes, the instrument and also the the uh, the smart Device that you're using but again all these instruments here are used a lot with hvac contractors resident.

You may be residential, you may be commercial, you may be industrial and we really have kits that fit uh all the requirements, whether you're residential, like residential, all the way up to industrial hvac and our uh applications right. Okay, awesome. Let me move over here for a second, i feel like we swapped places for a second there. Um great! That's really! That's really awesome.

Can i see that mic for you? Thank you. So much for talking with us certainly really appreciate it, and i appreciate the time and absolutely it's been a great show sure and i'm sure we're looking for - and i only been here for two hours, nice and within the next next two days. I'm sure we'll be coming back here, a few more times so definitely see you around there you go folks there you have it testo and now we're going to be moving over here. Seeing what else we got going on looks like the garbage bin has finally been relieved of from what was described as bur as a as a terrible mistake.

But now that that's been relieved, we got to talk to testo, just one of the many great sponsors we hear we have here at the symposium with that being said here we are in one of our classrooms. I'm gon na be quiet here, so you know i'm not making too much noise, but there we go.
