Hey Pool Owners Here's one thing that will kill algae in your pool. And no, it's not algaecide. Algaecide Works To prevent algae. It can also help to prevent early stage algae blooms, but if your pool is already green, algaecide won't do the trick.

You must kill all of the algae spores to prevent another algae bloom. To do that, you need to use chlorine shock. Non-chlorine shock doesn't directly kill algae, so use cow hypo or dichlor chlorine shock to completely kill the algae. Then vacuum your pool and run your filter to remove the dead algae.
