When installing a heating and air system, in my opinion, one of the most important steps is pulling a proper vacuum on the system. So there is a thing called a vacuum pump that you would connect to your gauges or to the heating and air system in some way, shape or form, and pull a vacuum on that system, removing contaminants, removing moisture, removing all kinds of things from that system. and furthermore, this is not my opinion. Most manufacturers have it in their install manuals that when you're installing their equipment, this is one of their most important steps.

In fact, a lot of them will tell you at what point they want you to pull it down. What Micron level do they want to see before you actually turn the system on or release the refrigerant into the system? There's a lot of misinformation out there. a lot of non-pros I Know there's a particular brand that likes to sell directly to the public and have them do their own installs. I'm not going to argue whether that's good or bad for the industry or you as a consumer, but what? I will argue.
