You are looking at getting a HEPA filter for your home. HEPA stands for high efficiency particulate air filter and so why would you even want a HEPA filter HEPA filters to be even called a HEPA filter has to meet certain requirements. You've got these other filters with high Merv ratings. They still don't meet the requirements to be called a HEPA filter.
To be called a HEPA filter. It has to capture at least 99.97 percent of fine Airborne particles with the size of 0.3 microns. And so when air filters are this good, when they're filtering out that many of the particulates floating through the air, they're going to filter out a lot of the things that your typical air filters may not. So in addition to the dust, pollen, and mold and things like that, it's also going to filter out bacteria, some viruses possibly and Airborne particles with those smaller size.
