Hey Pool Owners: If your pool pump is running but the water isn't pumping well, does that mean your pump's dying? Don't worry, there's probably just air in your system or something blocking the water flow. First, clean or backwasher filter and empty debris out of your skimmer basket and pump basket next. Make sure your skimmer isn't sucking air and your pool's water level isn't too low. Then look for air leaks around the pump connections and O-rings After doing all that, it's time to prime your pump, turn the pump off, remove the lid, and add water to the pump housing with a garden hose.
Let the hose run for two to three minutes, replace the lid and turn the pump back on. It may need a few rounds, but after priming your pump should come back to life. Follow us at Swim! University for more pool care tips throughout the year. Foreign.
If this doesn’t work, check when the last time the media was changed. Then if that’s not an issue, it might be the pump
should show this with a variable speed, with a no flo sensor, since thats whats required to be installed from now on.
I found so much trash in peoples impellers this year, its crazy……snails, sticks, etc…. will stop the flow quick!
A common culprit is a dry and/or cracked oring on the pump lid.
Btw, it's bad practice to have a 90 directly on top of pump. Should have at least 4x pipe diameter straight up before the 90. Same goes for suction side.
Pay attention, pool owners. Class is in session.
What do you do when you add water to the pump housing but there is no valve to close to prevent it from draining back into the pool? Service area Kanata??
Van you guys make a video on maintenance when it comes to that slime that forms on vinyl pools. How to remove, prevent ect.
