That was insane and I can't believe it worked after all that....

45# LPCO & DLT-Stat would be good.
How's the new scale? I really want to move away from a b-tank to oxy acetylene, any advice
How come you didn't put the cooling hose attc.on the Comp. ?
I wonder if trying to replace the oil in the compressor and doing a full flush would let it run a bit longer? The compressor replacement is almost the cost of a new unit so it may buy some time?
Dude I personally feel your the best in this field and your videos, so please ๐ stay strong..
Maybe cut open a filter/dryer like this to show what happens inside?
Electrical engineer, but NOT a trained HVAC guy here, north Texas. Had my condenser fan crater on my December 2010 installed Trane 4 ยฝ ton home central AC unit (not a heat pump), and the compressor went in to overtemp shut down. I caught it within a couple of hours, and shut it down for the week it took to get a replacement fan motor (replaced it myself). The unit came back up and seems to run fine now. To the touch my dryer does not seem to have a temp drop across it, but wondering now if maybe I should have the dryer replaced just to be safe. Are you in Ottawa ?
Wouldn't changing the oil in the compressor help any or is it just plain shot?
Many HVAC in your videos got a gaz line to warn the air in the winter, is it just a backup in case it's very cold or any of them are reversible ?
Coremax valves
So appreciate all your videos and the work you put into making it public, thank you and keep up the great work
How come you not clean the condenser this time?
scrap yard challenge
core max units. when iโm already in refer circuit and there is room to easily do so, i take a moment to slap a set of additional service ports in and leave original core max ports in place. ever install iso valves on a line dryer for easier preventative changeout with comfort cooling Equipment? .
Top almost looked red hot
I know I said this time and time again please use half the soldering youโve been using to solder those copper lines. Thereโs no reason that I can see to use that much solder.
I'm liking the 80s music
I am a commercial HVAC company owner in the Carolinas and I can tell you this I fired all the restaurants we had we concentrate on manufacturing, and office buildings never been happier no weekends nights or holidays they donโt even blink when you hand them a bill
I gotta get someone to look at my 1997 Mitsubishi mini-split R22 unit, pretty sure it is slightly low on refrigerant because it ices up and spews condensation when it runs hard, so we were just running it on low fan and letting it cycle by setting temperature a degree or two below room temp with an additional 600 watt window AC to supplement the cooling, but Iโve moved and want to rent the place out, so the janky window AC need to go… ultimately it should be replaced with a heat pump because thereโs just a baseboard heater, but the building doesnโt allow new AC units to be installed anymore, so weโre stuck with vintage AC.
It might last until next spring, your customer is lucky we're nearly at the end of peak cooling season. I'm sure it'll die once temps get back into the 110+ range. The insanely high summer temps you get there combined with that condenser coil being so damaged is going to do a number on it. In hindsight, what you could have done is sweat in two 3/8 flare adapters and install a -HH drier, those are pretty good for wax removal, and Sporlan used to have a demo setup back in the 1980's with old black compressor oil being cleaned up back to a straw color with only 24 hours of compressor run time. HH is not for acid removal like some people think, it's high wax capacity. When the oil gets cooked, especially POE oils, it forms waxes which plug up metering devices and valves. That way with flares would be simple to keep replacing the drier until they can get a new unit. With unit availability as bad as it is right now, on top of new energy efficiency rules kicking in next year, you might have to change that drier a few more times, even if they approve a new unit tomorrow, it might be months before you can get a new unit shipped, then schedule the crane etc to get it changed out.
Well done my friend!
The AC is doubling as a cook surface for the kitchen. No that is energy efficient! ๐คฃ
Also I picked up the Wiha insulated torque set and loving it. I got the new version with the additional bits.
Yellow Jacket fin comb kit. #17 comb Service area Barrhaven??
Broke all the rules and got lucky! ๐ Knowing your customer and knowing the risks of 'shortcuts' is key. I hope your customer understands how fortunate they are to have the benefit of your experience and wisdom! Well done!
Why do I feel like Iโve seen this video a year or so ago maybe itโs the high flow shrewder depressor reference?
Must be global cooling, sorry, Global warming, sh*t, climate changeโฆโฆ.๐คฃ Just in caseโฆ.
Customer: Why is my compressor steaming hot?
Tech: Because it's well done!๐คฃ๐ฅ Service area Ottawa??

THE QUALITY OF YOUR WORKMANSHIP DECLINES WHEN THE CUSTOMER DECLINES YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS. in my opinion Are you in Kanata ?
Thank you for taking time Sunday
Great video ๐ฏX๐ฏ
God bless you and your family ๐
I guess restaurants are cautious with their maintenance โbudgetโ if they even have one.
There's no such thing as cold it's a made up concept Are you in Nepean ?
The life expectancy of those unit's is only about 15 years? I did not know that, that seems low. And here I am trying to keep our 25 year old a/c running…
Another Great video Chris . My Sunday ritual! most of my customers have completely stopped PMs -money being the biggest issue . So we just patch em and continue to recommendโฆโฆ.
I probably would have cut that drier out to ensure that I don't release ang crap past it, but who am I. Lol
Literally more from you then at school, lol. Thanks bro!
๐๐
that filter dryer will probably outlast that unit… but the real question .. is can you even get a new unit?
I have to say this because it is the truth. You are honestly the most perfect man, everything about you is absolutely incredible your looks, your voice, your intelligenceโฆ you are amazing โค Are you in Barrhaven ?
Why would you stick your hand into a refrigeration condensing unit which could possibly have a bad earth and also the unit could potentially be live with three phase voltages, how is this professional work possibly putting other people watching this video at risk. Service area Nepean??
Love the Vice city ish vibe music edit while brazing.
Edit- atleast that what it made me think of lol little nostalgic moment of my 12 year old self driving around Miami on gta. Simpler timesโฆ.
Tablet ????
What tablet are you using with your probes
dude why are you just watching the compressor it will explode
Well, I would also said try changing the dryer in that situation.
Best case it runs again, worst case it wonโt.
But I donโt think that try wonโt be too expensive ๐
Since itโs now running, Iโd go on to order a replacement
do you do Black Friday Deals? ๐๐๐
With stage one having a full charge and a plugged up drier….i too would of thought those fixed bore would've been plugged. That oil is most definitely trashed and that compressor has been overheating for quite some time now. That unit is definitely on life 8 of 9….living on borrowed time.
๐ช๐บ๐ธโ๐ thanks

would a manual high pressure switch be consider preventive maintenance.?
the best way to get notified I found is either use the youtube app on mobile and turn on notifications or use use email if you have that option Service area Orleans??
Overheated refrigeration oil turns into some sort of powder most of the time, ive seen some that looked like it turned into burnt caramel and stuck to a wall of 3/8 inch pipe, plugged solid
Can you do a video on the difference in HVAC jobs/titles and the realistic differences? Reading and trying to organize them online and asking people isn't helping when trying to choose a path.
