4:17 Question on HVAC Brands

Hey guys, i did a video recently where i touched on this, but i just wanted to dive into it a little deeper, but before i go any further, if you love netflix, tacos or chubby, guys that do heating and air videos, please click that subscribe button. Thank you: hey guys in this video we're going to talk real quick about what i would call the four layers of access and heating and air right, and why is this important to you as the homeowner? I think that uh, if you're, looking at a particular brand, knowing where they fall in these layers and i'm going to go through them, really quick but where they fall in these four layers makes a difference, and so here's the layers just real quick over the years. It used to be just one or two layers and it's morphed into this, so the first layer is, there are brands out there that are premium exclusive brands that you have to almost you know. If i'm a contractor, i have to provide a certain amount of exclusivity.

I have to at least promise to sell a certain amount of their products and i have to jump through hoops. I have to take certain classes to sell their higher seer stuff and they're just very hard to get if you're, not a part of the circle right. Uh some of those brands and i'm not gon na miss any names, but some of those brands. If you're not already a part of that circle, it can be tough, if not impossible, especially if you already have someone in your little area that sells that brand.

That's been selling it for years and they've jumped through those hoops. You may not be allowed to sell that product at all right, so that would be the first layer. The second layer is, there are certain products or certain brands that they don't necessarily they're, not quite on lockdown as far as their hossier stuff and you having to take certain classes to sell it and all that good stuff. But you do have to be a dealer.

If that makes sense, so they won't just sell to any contractor, you have to be that brand's dealer so they're, not quite as you know, locked down as some of these folks that are like you know. If you want to sell this product, you got ta. Do this or that, but they're still somewhat of an exclusive brand, you do have to sometimes jump through some hoops to sell that brand or their products and they're, just not quite as under locked down, but they're still saying. We won't just sell to just any heating and air contractor the third layer would be.

There are brands that will sell to just about any contractor whether you're a dealer or not. They will just sell you their products. They want to make sure that you are licensed. Contractor, if you call their supply house or their distributor they're going to ask for some sort of proof that you know you are an actual heating and air company that you are licensed and all that stuff.

Why does that matter to you, the homeowner? I think it should matter a lot uh. I would only want to buy products that the brand is saying. Look. You need to meet at least a certain standard before we'll even give this system to you.
Unlike you know, i know there's guys on craigslist. That might do this on the side: they're, not an actual, licensed insured company. Well, you don't want them installing your heating and air system, because if something goes wrong, there's not a lot of a safety net there. If you will so, at least if they make sure that they're a licensed contractor and before they install your system, that you know they're going to make sure that they're on the up and up, if that makes sense.

So that is the third layer and then the fourth layer there are brands out there that you can buy online. In fact, there's probably more than there used to be now, but you can buy them online or there's even brands. You can just walk straight into the supply house and i've been there when you know a homeowner comes in and buys a certain brand or product. In fact, one time i was in a supply house, i'm not going to mention the name, but i was in a supply house where they were like look.

You know we don't sell to the public if you want that brand. But if you want our builder gray brand over here, you know we'll sell that to you and you know we just need your credit card number, you know sort of deal, and so that would be the four layers, obviously of the four. The fourth one would be. The largest there are brands coming out all the time that you can buy online, especially ductless brands, they're just different imported products with a different sticker on it, and i'm not going to go into what my thoughts are or how good a quality.

I think those products are. You could probably tell that said if you do have a particular brand you're. Looking at you can't find much information on it. Put a comment down below a lot of my videos.

I get from comments or questions on our videos and then i will maybe do a video on that particular brand. Put that down below that said, thanks for watching hit that subscribe button, we'll see you next time you.
